Haworth Pickleball was excited to assist in helping the 4th grade Webelos/scouts complete a requirement for a badge by learning a new sport. We had a great afternoon teaching the scouts how to play the game, they may even go home and ask to play with their respective parents and grandparents, the true definition of multi-generational!

Swim club court
A huge thank you to Tino and Jen Cammalleri and maintenance Sherri for redoing the swim club court lines. The swim club court is up and running. You will need a broom(s) for the leaves or a charged leaf blower. Two new nets will be arriving this week. You will need to pick up a net (and balls) at the shed and bring it over to the swim club and then return it unless there is a game immediately following and you confirm with the next host.

We do need volunteers to shore up the fence including more material and some more stakes.

Volunteers needed
The Committee is in (dire?)😂 need of occasional volunteers to keep the Club going strong. Please consider donating 1-2 hours of your time once per month. Our current needs are volunteers for 1) Haworth Day 2) Beginner Opens on Saturdays 3) Social Events and 4) Fundraising. Please read on about each of these needs:
1. Haworth Day: Saturday October 2 in the afternoon, we need a few people to sit at a table to accept pickleball applications and answer any questions.

2. SATURDAY Beginner Opens: please consider donating 30-60 minutes of your time to work and play with Beginners. Ideally an Intermediate or Advanced player. Think of when you started, and the people that were there to help you!

3. Social Events: One of the things that makes this group wonderful is the community spirit and fun we have together. We like to have socials every couple of months to get as many of us together and have fun. We are in need of volunteers to organize a social. We have an idea for October, but we are looking someone to spearhead it. This truly requires just a few hours of time and to organize things day of.

4. FUNDRAISING: We are always in need of fundraising ideas and events. We are looking for some volunteers to help us and spearhead a campaign or two!

Hey Players. Please be aware that there is poison ivy behind the rink courts at Memorial Field. Please use caution, but if you do
come into contact with it, one of our players suggested geting Tecnu products to promptly remove the oils that cause the rash. In the meantime, the town has been notified and is in the process of investigating remediation.

Tecnu offers the best over-the-counter remedies for itch relief, and washes to remove poison ivy, oak and sumac oil.

Day 1 of Coach Z's Pickleball Clinics!! So many Haworth Residents and so much fun! The day was capped off with a Pickleball Potluck Social and a visit from the ice cream truck. 🍦🍨🍧 Tomorrow we'll continue the fun with Coach Z's tournament prep and then a Shootout Round Robin. Come on over and check it out!
