Had my apprentice Carter over for the weekend and boy does he like to work!
A 7 year old kid putting most teenagers these days to shame!😂
He motivated me to start hauling out and organizing the turkey lab! 🪚🔨🦃🦃

Huge congrats to Logan Fellows on a beautiful late season bird after working him for a couple hours! I had the pleasure of tagging along with Logan and his father Frank Fellows last youth season and gave him a personalized double sided slate call that they are definitely putting to work! Heck of a first bird and I know you put your time in for this one! Well deserved! You sure are a go getter for your young age! Congrats again guys! Memories for a lifetime! 🦃💥

Got a later start than I wanted and took a nap in the truck till I was woken up from distance gobbling. I got my gear ready and headed out to where I thought was the perfect spot only to be cut short from the yelps of a hen over the hill side so I setup my decoys jumped in the woods and gave a couple yelps from my B.H venom mouth call. Minutes later 2 hens and 2 Jakes come to the setup but I can still hear spitting and drumming! Few minutes later he comes into sight from the big mound of rocks I was hiding behind and with the bully jake in sight as well, I took my shot!💥🦃🦃

What an amazing morning spent on this beautiful Saturday with my baby girl! We had gobbling right off the roost first thing this morning but he played tough and went silent. So with a quick stop for breakfast we were on our way trying to locate a gobbler with nothing in the first few spots. Finally in a spot I thought for sure was well pressured and wouldn't hear anything I strike up a gobble first try! So we got set up quickly and got close enough for a shot but had a miss on a decent bird!
With a quick move after that we were back on birds and had one coming our way after flashing the strutter decoy but he got bumped back down from a noisy vehicle.
All in all it was a wonderful day spent with my daughter!
It's not always about the harvest but the memories made in field! 🦃🦃
