Hey guys and gals,
I am writing this for our Adults involved in the Havre Adult Program. I had discovered that we pay for USA hockey membership but do not get any USA hockey insurance coverage, or anything if we are not registered with MAHA at the state level. Be registered would have changed nothing at our rink, and would have given +$500 to Youth hockey for the state from USA hockey. I went to there meeting last night at which they dismissed everything positive thing I said about being registered and instead talked about switching to a Waiver to dismiss liability. For some reason they would rather get rid of any insurance for us as Adults and make it so that everyone that already has to pay for USA hockey (coaches) gets no benefit from it. On top of that they are increasing our cost to $200.
I don’t know if I have articulated this as well as I could in person, but this is ridiculous. They don’t look after the adult program at all, and every time I try to get something for the Adults they s**t on it. I don’t know what needs to be done since I am just one person. But I think things need to change before it get more out of hand. I don’t know if you guys know others that are not happy with the board and maybe its time to get a large group together to say something about it.
