As a trainer , I get this a lot: “you and Chelsea are different,” “I’ll never be like you,” “I’m not a weight lifter,” etc. Although it is my job to be an example of what healthy looks like, it’s not an easy path. I have had and will continue to have many struggles of my own, as we all do. This is why I prioritize my health. I exercise and eat healthy primarily for my mental health, my biggest challenge. I choose weight lifting, walking outdoors and yoga because those are three modes of exercise that help me to feel MY best and hold me accountable to do them on a weekly basis. I choose my health over how much money or how many hours I can work, I choose cooking over getting fast food or going to the bar to drink my calories, I choose to grocery shop for only food that will help my body to run more smoothly and hopefully live longer and more fulfilling years. Those choices are not easy for me to make, they are all the more challenging route. Exercising vigorously enough to be lean is uncomfortable, cleaning up after every meal is exhausting, and working less hours means a tighter budget. Those are all sacrifices I am willing to take to keep my body in tune.
