It is with profound sadness that we announce the loss of esteemed Wheelin family member Gil Banta. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this challenging period. Gil's humor and spirit will be deeply missed, and his impact on our community will not be forgotten. RIP our freind till we meet again

We are saddened by the loss of our long time friend, supporter and hunter Gil Banta. We have just learned of his passing and wish to pass along our condolences and ask for your prayers.

He was an Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Deputy having served his parish and community for 30 years, all while in a wheelchair but don’t think for one minute that wheelchair held him back.

“He helped with benefits, cooking, the St. Jude car show, he was part of everything.”

Deputy Harry “Gil” Banta died at 62-years-old.
