Mother ocean was all kinds of disorganized this morning, but our crew from Georgia toughed it out and turned out to be a great day!

Another fine day with our good friend Pat and his cousin Jason! Mother ocean was slick cam, and the fish were hungry! Nice catch of wahoos and dolphins and a kicker blackfin. Hooked a very nice blue marlin, but it wasn’t meant to be caught!

Saw Warship 61 escorting a tug towing a submarine. Pretty cool! Had to give them a 4 mile buffer….

Great day on mother ocean with our friend Rich Jackson and crew- these guys are lucky and brought a nice cooler NE wind and we found a float 1st thing and bailed 1/2 a limit of school dolphins. Rooted around in the grass a little more and had an EPIC teaser bite out of a blue marlin, who finally committed to eat the only bait we had out there- a dink bait. Yours truly hooked him and he jumped all over the ocean. After a good fight he came up to the surface and we got the leader! Joey Hales was a great angler did an excellent job earning his NC Release citation! Kicker blackfin towards the end of the day.

I love it when family is on board and it is decent fishing. My cousin Jaydn, and her future husband Tyler and his dad Travis along with jackson had a hot but beautiful day on mother ocean. Catch 2 outta 3 sailfish for Tyler and Travis, and the blackfins cooperated for us. Thanks again guys! Always a pleasure!!!

Another great day on mother ocean for the men of the Rook family. Started out looking for the tuna, they weren’t biting very well, but we caught two out of three sailfish pretty quick this morning. David and Brendan did a great job catching their first Billfish. We heard about some grass in the deep and we went out there and found some cooperative school dolphin, caught all they wanted and called it an early day!

Yesterday we had Dave, Pat and Amanda Weston and the boys- they were scheduled to go earlier in the week and got blown out and we were able to accommodate them. Dave wanted a Billfish and they wanted to try to catch a bunch of fish for the boys- we got the billfish job accomplished, but I swear every grass patch and grass line had one dolphin on it. We worked really hard to try to put them on a nice school, but we just never found them. Some days you’re the windshield, some days you are the bug. But luckily it wasn’t too bad in the sea condition department and only rained 1/2 the day! Thanks again folks it was a pleasure to have you aboard the Calypso!

After a week of tied to the dock type wind/ weather, we were able to get Gary Fox and crew out for a halfway decent day on mother ocean. Started out a little choppy but got pretty as the day went on. Limit of dolphins and a handful of blackfins headed back to Jersey! Thanks again folks!
