"Hannah Levie | Died Sobibor, June 1943
1939 – 1943
Hannah Levie was 4 years old, born in 1939 in Groningen, Netherlands.
She was the youngest cousin of the Levie children — Jacob, Sara, Philip, Miriam, David, and Samuel Levie.
Hannah was born under German occupation and never knew a free Netherlands.
From age 2 she wore the yellow star on her small coat and was banned from playgrounds.
She loved dolls and holding her mother's hand.
In spring 1943 her family was arrested and sent to Kamp Vught after their hiding place was discovered.
Hannah was placed in the toddler group in the children's barracks.
Her older cousins tried to bring her extra bread.
On 6 June 1943 Hannah was carried onto the children's transport to Westerbork.
On 8 June 1943 she was deported to Sobibor.
She arrived on 11 June 1943 after three days in a cattle car without water.
Murdered on arrival, Hannah was killed at age 4.
She was murdered the same day as her six cousins.
The Levie family lost seven children in one day.
