A few pics from the dives June 6.
Worst part of the day is the fuel dock. But it gives the divers a chance to talk and plan for the dives to come.
The UW pics are at the Dixie Arrow.

Running home with the four footers behind us is the easy part of the day. We finally had a turn to better conditions and got out Friday and today. Went to the Dixie Arrow both days as conditions there were stellar, light current and top to bottom vis, super good diving. A bit too rough to sit on the hook for two at the DA today so second dive was the Abrams, less vis of only about 7o to 75, but otherwise really good dive.

Well the Weather Station is flying the proper flags, two red pennants. Gale from the North has the ocean and the sound whipped up into a froth. This whole week has been no diving allowed this should break on Thursday.

Dive spots just opened up for the weekend of May 16/17. This is for intermediate depths so no deeper than 120 and most likely to the South wrecks sites (Dixie, Proteus, etc). If you are interested in getting on the boat for this get in touch with Capt Dave and we set it up.

The Lion’s Paw escaped the boatyard today! The last task is a scrub of the hull then the travel lift comes and picks the boat up and moves her to the launch slip. It’s an amazing machine that is run by bluetooth from a portable control box. Once in the water and engines to temp we run the sound down to the village at full speed where we can to break in the new engine properly. You don’t baby a big diesel during break in!

Shes back in her slip enjoying the Hatteras sunsets.

A lot of clean up and organizing for the season over next few weeks then its time to DIVE, DIVE, DIVE!

The first start on a new engine is not always a smooth event but this one went really well. After cranking to get oil pressure and priming the fuel system it barked right off and sounded very smooth. We escape the boatyard tomorrow for the sea trials and back to the slip where she gets a scrub down to remove boatyard goo and get ready for the season.

Having four of us for the bottom paint effort made it go so much faster and easier. Thanks to Panda and Marc for helping us out today.
One step closer to having Lion’s Paw swimming again.
