The Philadelphia / Suburban Women's Basketball League (PSWBL) is a summer basketball league that has been serving the Philadelphia area since 1994. The league provides the solid off-season environment for players to keep their skills sharp, and to add to their games. The PSWBL has many prestigious alumni, including Dawn Staley, a member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, and Elena Della Don

ne, the 2013 WNBA Rookie of the Year. Previously a Philadelphia Parks and Recreation program, it has been independently run since 2008, and calls the Kelly Bolish Gymnasium in Hatboro, PA. It has a history of stability and growth, as David Kessler has been it's sole director since 1994. The PSWBL is the "direct descendant" of the Priscilla Abruzzo Women's Basketball League, which served Philadelphia from 1978 to 1993. When the PSWBL picked up the program, there were 5 teams. Today, through a pioneering hybrid draft system, the league now boasts anywhere from 8 to 13 teams depending upon the year.

Thursday May 11 -entry deadline
Thursday May 18 -player draft at Kelly Bolish Gym (7:30 p.m.)
Thursday May 25 -shirts ordered
Monday June 5 -schedule and rosters posted and emailed to
players
Tuesday June 13 -shirts distributed, league begins

Conducting a player draft and ordering shirts (with the player's name on the back) is problematic unless everyone registers and pays the league fee by the deadline on Thursday May 11.
