Another great day for HSDA and the Kajukenbo Family. I had the honor to promote two people to the rank of Sibak and First Degree Black Belt today. Tim Scobey and Joe Medendorp both deserved and earned their belt. Congrats to both and look forward to more good things to come.

Ohana. Now that classes are done. I am taking everything down. I have a lot of stuff to get rid of.

I have two stand up adjustable bags remaining, hand targets, body bags, and lots of floor mats. Beyond karate stuff I have other as well, please let me know if there is stuff you want to buy. I have great deals on all this and will be at the school this month here and there if you want to come out and see what I have a available.

Well. Last class done. Only had a couple students but in the process of this week we promoted five students to finish out. I can not thank this group enough for this month and fishing out the month strong. Congrats to Jenny, Dylan, Ayla, and Manuel for earning Green and Mason for his Orange. And right after the test Mason already got two stripes on his new belt, then come to class tonight and earned three more. Lol. Way to push to the end Mason!! Thank you so much to Tim Scobey for standing by me and helping out this month. I really meant a lot to me to have you there with me. Thank you to the couple hundred-plus people that have come through the doors over the past 8.5 years and became part of our Ohana. I will miss all of you.

Tomorrow night, Thurs. June 29th we will have our final classes at the school. 6pm. I don't know what the class will hold.

After 8 1/2 years I have made the decision to close Hastings Self Defense Academy down permanently as of July 1st, 2023 and July 3rd for the Young Samurai group. Due to many, many factors and lots of discussions, I feel this is the best decision for myself, my family and of course, my Ohana. I wish some of the factors that go into this decision weren't a factor, but ultimately I had to make this choice.

For the rest of the month, I will continue to hold classes as normal. No one will be charged dues from this point forward, but welcome to finish the month with us.

I will be selling of all of the equipment and such from the school in July, so if there are mats or bags, target, etc you want for your personal use, you will be able to grab items at a fair price. I will have more information on that portion of the closing as we get closer to July.

I can not thank all of you enough for your dedication, hard work and continued interest in Kajukenbo. Many of you have been with me for years and that means so much to me. I will miss each and everyone of you and hope to catch up with all of you down the road.
