SEASON ENDS AT 16-4, ELKO MOVES ON:

After another spectacular regular season, the Hastings Hurricanes again stubbed their toes in the playoffs. After falling 16-6 to Rosemount, Elko ended our season 6-1 on Sunday.

We will be hosting a damn good playoff play-in game on Wednesday at Vets!!! Lakeville v. Rosemount at 7:30!!!

Play-In Tournament Wednesday is set. ⚾️ Winners advance to Class AAA, losers drop to Class AA.

CANES JUMP ON DICK’S BACK, WIN WAR IN NEW MARKET TO CLOSE REGULAR SEASON:

Hastings Hurricanes Pitcher Nick Horsch went all seven innings in one of the grittiest pitching performances ever in Purple, willing the Canes to a regular season ending 10-9 win at New Market on Sunday afternoon. As is the case in almost every Hastings-New Market game, the two teams traded offensive blows through seven innings, including Ben Bundschu’s towering majestic home run in the third. Bunch came to the plate four times, with the home run, RBI single, four total RBI’s, two walks, and three key runs scored. Jordy Horsch and Dave Fransen added two hits a piece, and Chase Rupprecht was hit by a pitch that left some nice Rawlings stitching on his forearm, but scored a giant run in the process. The little things win games.

The Hurricanes end the regular season at 16-2, and will prepare for next weekend’s Federal League AAA Postseason Tournament. Stay tuned for more!!! ⚾️🌀
