Off-Leash Lapdogs For 2026, It's the Off-Leash Lapdogs!

Catchup #3 Saturday 5/9 - Dry skidpad at Tire Rack HQ in South Bend, IN. I ran the final event, on Saturday, pulling an average 1.016, tied for 41st place. After all the dust settled, we were 44th position overall. It was a heck of a challenging week, but thanks to my co-driver (Brian Huber) and many lap dog / lap pup friends it was another great week of summer camp with cars (used with permission from Eric Scheimer 😀)

Catch up #2 - Friday 5/8 - Blackhawk Farms Raceway in South Beloit, IL. Blackhawk is a shorter track, about 2 miles. It's pretty flat with good sight lines, and recently paved. It was unexpectedly fun, with Brian and I running similar times in the morning and afternoon. From there was a slog through Chicago traffic to get back to South Bend for an evening of camaraderie at our hotel, a One Lap tradition.

Brian did such a good job with updates, I fell behind with mine...let's catch up! Thursday 5/7 was the bucket-list track for me, Road America. It's one of the longest and fastest tracks in America. It's also a beautiful facility in a really pretty part of WI. I ran the morning, and Brian took the afternoon session, with Brian running a stronger time and finishing position in the afternoon. Brian also ran the autocross between sessions and finished a very strong 11th place overall. From there we had a short drive to Slinger Speedway, an oval short track where we had a quick 3-lap time trial - another strong finish for Brian. Videos attached, a 130+ mph fly by at Road America, and a lap around the oval short track.

A very good day at Motorsports Park Hastings in NE today. Both Brian and I had a lot of fun on course, the car was fine after our dirt road excursion yesterday, so no harm no foul. We're in the car now on the transit to Elkhart Lake, WI for our next event at Road America. RA is a bucket list track for me, and we're both excited to visit one of the premier tracks in the country. Pics/Videos today include Brian trying to get some the last remaining dirt out of the inside of our wheels before my morning run, oh, and some cars and racing and stuff. Enjoy. A quick self interview

We've reached the point in the OLOA week that I call "the blur." What day is it? Where are we again? Where are we going? How far is this transit? Yeah, all this becomes a blur mid week for me. It's fun blur, though. Time to go to bed.

Day 4 at High Plains Raceway in CO is done! We're in the car taking the backroads to Hastings, NE tonight. If you wanted weather today....you got it. Rain? Check. Sleet? Check. Snow? Check. Brian ran both sessions today, and did extremely well with no previous wet track experience. He was 48th in the morning and 46th in the afternoon. Hoping for a dry day tomorrow!

Good afternoon friends...reporting to you from I-35 in OK at the moment. Day 3 in the books at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit in today. I drove the morning and Brian took the afternoon shift. A couple of pics from Brian's session and parade laps for me. The videos are an outside and inside perspective of the standing start. We're going to have a COLD day at High Plains Raceway tomorrow.

Reporting from I-40 just across the AK line on our way to Tulsa, OK tonight. We've completed the wet skidpad (result...ugh, don't ask), and the 2 time trials at Nashville Superspeedway. Brian ran a strong session in the morning to set our starting order for the rest of the week. Here are a few pics and videos for your viewing pleasure.

Day 1 in the books. Solid showing at the wet skidpad, but the autox was a bust...I got greedy on my fast run and plowed off course. Ooops. We made it to the Illinois side of St. Louis a little earlier than expected and managed to have a nice sit-down dinner with 4 other OneLappers. Here's a shot of Blake on his autox run at Peru. , , Ray
