🌮🏁 Taco Casa Racing Team — End-of-Year & Farewell Message 🏁🌮

For five unforgettable years, Taco Casa Racing rolled into dirt tracks across Texas and beyond with one mission: race hard, race clean, and make it rain Taco Bucks!

Along the way, we were blessed with an incredible roster of wheelmen — Zane Lawrence, Colby Stubblefield, Jeb Sessums, and John Carney II. Each one strapped in, dropped the hammer, and wrote their own chapter in our story. Together, we rode the high of victory lane and swallowed the heartbreak of the ones that slipped away.

We collected feature wins, series championships, track titles, Hard Charger awards, and a whole lot of memories that will last long after the engines go quiet. And when Taco Casa Racing unloaded at a track… everyone knew it wasn’t gonna be a walk in the park. Competitors had to dig deep, because we didn’t show up to blend in — we showed up to compete.

And of course…
When we won, it rained Taco Bucks and Taco Casa SWAG like confetti on championship night! 🌮🎉

But the real treasure of these years wasn’t trophies or checkered flags — it was the fans. The loyal, loud, taco-loving fans who cheered us on whether we won, lost, or blew a motor on lap two. Your support never wavered, and your belief in this team kept us pushing harder every season.

Over these five years, we learned, we grew, we gained respect, and we earned it in return. We made friends who became family and created memories that can’t be erased by time or dust.

Now, as the 2025 season comes to a close, it’s time to announce that the Taco Casa Racing Team will be wrapping up its operations. We may still have a small role in the dirt-track world next year — but that story is still being written, and the ink hasn’t dried yet.

As we close this chapter, we want to send a sincere thank-you to our fans, competitors, promoters, track crews, friends, and family who’ve stood with us through every lap. We wish all of you an amazing new year, good fortune, and good luck wherever the road — or dirt — takes you.

From all of us at Taco Casa Racing…
Thank you for the ride. Thank you for the cheers. Thank you for the memories.
🌮🏁❤️

We are hoping that all our Taco Casa Racing Fans have a wonderful, blessed and awesome Thanksgiving Holiday😊🌮🌮🌮

🔥 Vado Speedway Park Season Finale – Race Recap 🔥

Another electric night for Grayson Taco Casa Racing in Vado, New Mexico!

John Carney rolled into Vado Speedway Park tonight bringing his 410 chassis paired with the 360 motor, ready to close out the 2025 season with heart, hustle, and pure determination. And he did not disappoint.

From the moment the heat race lineups dropped, John came out swinging. Starting P2, he wasted no time putting pressure on the leader. In just a few short laps, Carney seized the top spot and never looked back — taking the checkered in dominant fashion and setting the tone for the night.

When it came time for the A-Feature, the redraw wasn’t quite in our favor, placing John deep in the field in P8. But when that green flag waved, the Taco Casa machine came alive. Carney went to work on the cushion, slicing through traffic with precision, picking off car after car.

By the halfway mark, Carney had powered his way into the top three, and fans were on their feet as he began reeling in the leaders.

With about 10 laps to go, the track began laying down rubber, locking the field into a narrow racing groove and making passing nearly impossible. But even with the surface tightening up, John fought clean, smart, and aggressive — holding strong to bring home an outstanding and hard-earned P3 finish.

As the season winds down, the Taco Casa Racing team celebrates another remarkable performance, proving once again why John Carney and the crew are among the toughest competitors anywhere in the Southwest.

A heat race win, a charge from P8, and a podium finish to close out the year… that’s what racing is all about.

Rocket Speedway Race Recap – Petty, Texas

December 15, 2025

A Night of Surprises, Strategy, and Sprint-Car Showmanship

If you weren’t at Rocket Speedway tonight, you missed one of the wildest, most unpredictable nights of racing all season. From the very start, no one in the pits knew what kind of racing surface we were about to get.

Early Chaos: What Track Are We Getting?

All day long, the buzz was the same: slick, dry, rubbered up. But just before the 305 Sprint Car heats, the track began taking rubber way ahead of schedule. In a bold last‑minute move, the promoters fully reworked the track. Despite strong winds, the moisture held and the gamble paid off.

Enter the Gladiator: Jeb Sessums – Taco Casa 305 Sprint

Twenty-two sprint‑car warriors unloaded, and early hot laps showed a slick, dusty surface that required precision setup choices. Jeb Sessums, piloting the Taco Casa #305, was ready for battle.

Heat Race – Setting the Tone

Starting P3, Jeb charged hard and fought his way to a strong P2 finish, securing a spot in the dash.

Dash – Fighting for the Front

Rolling off P5, Jeb made crisp, smart moves to finish P3, earning a third‑place starting spot for the A‑Feature.

A‑Feature – When Opportunity Knocks

The field rolled out for the 20‑lap main event under bright lights and a packed crowd. Jeb held his ground in third until Lap 7, when a caution flew after Kevin Ramey was collected behind a lapped car.

he reeled in the leader, made a clean textbook pass, and took command of the race. He never looked back.

CHECKERED FLAG – JEB SESSUMS WINS AT ROCKET SPEEDWAY!

A huge night for Taco Casa Racing—driver, crew chief, and team all executed perfectly. Their preparation, hard work, and dedication delivered a dominant victory.

One More Race to Go…

What was thought to be the final event of the year now appears to have one more chapter: Hunt County Speedway in just a few weeks.

Hope to see everyone there!

Taco Casa Racing – Final 410 Sprint Car Recap

Texas Motor Speedway – November 8, 2025
POWRi 410 Sprint Car Series

Wow. As the sun sets on one chapter and rises on another, the book officially closes on Taco Casa Racing’s 410 sprint car journey. What a weekend. What a finish. And what a way to say goodbye.

This final outing at Texas Motor Speedway delivered one of the most complete and inspiring performances we’ve seen from the team all year. Driver John Carney Jr. and lead wrench Aaron Quijano absolutely rose to the occasion, showcasing their grit, professionalism, and determination in a field stacked with elite competition. The car was dialed in—with a setup so precise it let John extract every ounce of speed the motor had left to give. After two seasons of highs, lows, heartbreak, and triumphs, we closed the 410 chapter on a true high note.

Friday Night Recap

Friday kicked off with fireworks. John stormed through the B-Main, capturing the win and transferring into the A-Main where he powered his way to a hard-earned P17 finish. With only one true racing groove available, lap times across the field were nearly identical, which made advancing incredibly difficult—but John kept his head down and hustled every lap.

Saturday Night – The Finale

Saturday night brought cold temperatures, a stiff 15-mph northern wind, and dust swirling through the air—true sprint car racing weather. A total of 37 cars entered once again, and with John qualifying late in the order (31st), he locked himself into P17 in time trials.

In his heat race, John started P5, but with the track fast and stuck in one dominant lane, he narrowly missed the top-four transfer. That set him on the front row for the second B-Main.

And once again—he delivered.
Despite the brutal headwind hammering cars down the front stretch, John jumped out front, ran away from the field, and claimed his second B-Main victory of the weekend.

The A-Main – A Final Fight Worth Remembering

With the B-Main win placing him P18 for the A-Main, the track crew completed a full rework before the event. The surface came back incredibly fast, smooth, and sticky—exactly the kind of racetrack where horsepower is king and bravery pays off.

The A-Main featured a pair of well-timed cautions that regrouped the field and opened the door for passing opportunities. John took full advantage, clawing his way from P18 to P10, then battling fiercely for ninth. With just a few laps left, he secured the spot—P9 at the line.

And that performance came with an extra reward:

John earned the Hard Charger Award, passing nine cars—the most of any driver in the main event.

An incredible achievement on a night when the field was fast, the track demanded precision, and passing opportunities were earned, not given.

John made magic on the low line through turns 1 and 2, where his car looked absolutely locked in. Even as the moisture faded in turns 3 and 4, he executed a key low-side pass before drifting high to maintain momentum. It was a clinic in patience, aggression, and track awareness.

A Team Effort, A Memorable Goodbye

From the cockpit to the wrenching pad, everything clicked. The car ran flawlessly. The driver put on one of his strongest performances of the year. And the crew—led by Aaron—delivered their most complete weekend of preparation and ex*****on. It was an effort to be proud of, and one fitting for our final dance with the 410s.

And now, with sincere appreciation and a full heart, we say goodbye to the 410 Sprint Car Series. Two seasons of thrills, learning, heartbreak, growth, dust, sweat, noise—and unforgettable memories.

To the incredible Taco Casa fans who cheered from the stands, packed the pits, followed us online, and supported us through every high and low—thank you. You made this journey special.

We don’t know exactly what the future holds for Taco Casa Racing…
But we know this: the story isn’t over. 🌮🌮🏁🏁

Texas Motor Speedway Recap – POWRi 410 Sprint Car Series

November 7, 2025

Last night at Texas Motor Speedway, fans were treated to an absolute marathon of racing action. With three full classes, an incredible 152 cars, and 29 individual races, it was one of those nights where the engines never cooled and the adrenaline never dipped. Throw in two-car, two-lap qualifying for every class, and you can imagine just how long—and intense—the show truly was. 😩

And the competition? Absolutely stacked.
High Limit hotshot Aaron Reutzel rolled into town, along with several other heavy hitters from the national circuit. The bar was set high from the moment the first engine fired.

For Taco Casa Racing and John Carney Jr., the night brought a mix of highs and lows—but overall, we walked out feeling proud of the effort, the performance, and the heart this team showed. We know we’re down a bit on horsepower compared to some of these big-budget high-limit teams. You could see the difference watching them rocket down the straightaways. But at the end of the day, we’re squeezing every ounce out of our equipment, hoping the engine holds together for one more night before Taco Casa Racing officially closes the chapter on our 410 racing program.

Hot Laps & Qualifying

The night kicked off with hot laps, where John posted a 17.506, putting him P21 overall. As the track came in for qualifying, he laid down a 14.871, placing him P26 in time trials.

With qualifying complete, John was slotted P7 in Heat 2. The track at this early stage was still a one-lane, locked-down hammer-down surface, and passing was at a premium. John managed to climb to P6, but that result bumped him into the B-Feature, starting P6.

B-Feature Chaos – and a Win

If there was ever a definition of survival of the fittest, the B-feature was it.

The 12-lap sprint turned into an absolute wreck-fest among the front-runners. The leaders repeatedly pushed the limit entering turns 3 and 4—only to jump the cushion and slap the concrete. Not once… but twice.

Meanwhile, John kept his cool and found a scorching fast low line in Turns 1 & 2, carving his way through traffic. When the first leader found the wall, John moved to P2. A few laps later, the next leader kissed the concrete, handing John the lead.

From there, John held command and drove away with the B-Feature WIN, punching his ticket into the A-main.

A-Main – Battle Mode From the Back

John rolled off P17 for the 25-lap A-feature. When the green flag dropped, chaos erupted mid-pack as everyone from 15th on back tried to funnel to the same spot on the racetrack. John got pinned low, shuffled, and trapped—dropping all the way to last place within three laps.

But once he finally found clean air and room to move, the j2 car came alive.

John began slicing through cars—high, low, wherever he had a lane—picking them off one by one. The track stayed gripped up all night thanks to the cool north wind and never truly slicked off, meaning everyone was fast… really fast. Outside of Aaron Reutzel, who was absolutely on rails and nearly a full second quicker than the field, the lap times were unbelievably tight.

By the time the checkered flag waved, John fought all the way back to finish P17, exactly where he started, but not for lack of effort. The car was smooth, he made very few mistakes, and he showed strong pace against some of the nation’s best sprint car talents.

Looking Ahead – One More Night

We’re back at it TONIGHT, same place, same time, same channel.

Even though temps may climb into the 80s during the afternoon, don’t let that fool you—once the sun goes down and that north wind kicks in, it gets COLD out there. Dress for both summer and winter if you want to stay comfortable.

This is our last night with the 410 program before Taco Casa Racing shuts the door on this chapter. We’d love to see all our fans out there as we finish strong and celebrate the end of an era.

Thank you, Taco Casa Racing fans, for your unwavering support over the years.
It has truly been an honor meeting you at tracks across the region.

Good luck, enjoy the show, and as always… eat more tacos!
