Happy National Coaches Day to our Stix West head coaches: Coach OJ, Coach Boston McIntire, Coach Marcos Sanchez, Coach Caleb Ingram, Coach Dakota Branger, and Coach Brett Griggs!

These men pour countless hours into developing our players, demanding their best, celebrating their growth, and teaching lessons that go far beyond baseball.

And to all of our volunteer assistant coaches who step up, give their time and help our teams succeed: thank you. Your commitment and impact do not go unnoticed.

We’re proud of the men leading Stix West!

OCTOBER COACH OF THE MONTH: BRETT GRIGGS

If you know Coach Griggs, you know he’s all about his team. He is a coach who genuinely loves his players and takes a lot of pride in helping them get better. His families absolutely love him, his boys play hard for him and it yields a team that is unstoppable.

Griggs believes that effort, hard work and focus are the most valuable traits a young player can have, and that’s the standard he brings to the field every time.

A little more about Coach Griggs:

* Birthday: January 29, 2004
* Favorite MLB team: Washington Nationals
* Favorite MLB player: James Wood
* Walk-up song: “No Option” by Post Malone
* Former catcher at Coppin State University & Arlington Baptist University
* Submarine pitcher in the Western Canadian and Hangout Leagues
* Catcher specialist

He may be one of the younger guys on our coaching staff, but the relationships he’s built with his players and families speak for themselves. He brings the baseball knowledge, the energy, the expectations, and just enough chaos to make it fun.

Thanks for the hardwork and energy you bring to the organization, Coach. We’re lucky to have you at Stix West.
