THANK YOU! It took less than two days to sell out laps for "The Coy Memorial."

This Saturday at The New London-Waterford Speedbowl NEMA will host "The Coy Memorial." The NEMA cars will race in the Johnny Coy Sr. Memorial 25 lap race, while the Lite cars will race in the Johnny Coy Jr. Memorial 25 lap race.
This is the first of what we hope is an annual event. We didn't go big with this event, but we still wanted to step up and make it special. The Coy Family stepped up and has added just shy of $3000 to the purse for the race. We also have to thank Tolerico Motorsports and Mike Scrivani for coming onboard as sponsor of this race.

We will have some special awards presented at the event as well. Jim O'Brien and Sons have put up $160 to each NEMA heat winner, while the Coy Family have put $100 to each Lite winner. Each race will also have a Hard Luck recipient worth $50, this will go to the competitor with the worst luck of the day. There will be a halfway recipient that will go to the finisher that finishes exactly halfway in the field in each race, worth $50. Finally, the last 5 finishers in each race will receive and extra $25.
The Coy Family would also like to thank all those that have purchased a lap for this race!

It's with excitement and sadness that we are announcing our 2022 plans.

Our excitement comes from our plans to move up from the NEMA lites to run with NEMA in 2022. We will be utilizing an Esslinger power plant from Bertrand Motorsports 8n our current beast chassis.

Our sadness comes from the fact that our patriarch, Johnny Coy Jr, won't get to come full circle with us this year. He will be with us in our hearts as we will dedicate this season to him.

Our 2021 season has ended, last night at Waterford Speedbowl, with a 4th place finish.

We had a good season and finished 2nd in points in the Owners and Drivers NEMA Lite Championships. In 17 races, we had 2 wins, 11 top 5s, 15 top 10s and finished with a 5.53 average finish, not too shabby!

Stay tuned for a big announcement for our 2022 season!

Not a great day yesterday at Lee Speedway for the #19 Coy Racing NEMA Lite midget. We unloaded pretty quick, but would soon experience some major brake issues. Richie finished the heat barely before all 3 brakes would lock up coming off the track and the car would need to be towed off. The team tried to fix it and thought they made it better for the feature, but the brakes locked up again just around halfway and the team settles for a DNF.

We take a few weeks off before we head to Seekonk Speedway for the Boston Louie Race.

Coy Racing started it's 3rd campaign on the NEMA Lite series this past Saturday. Once again the Lite cars were apart of the Annual Icebreaker at Thompson Speedway. A great field of cars were on hand, as 17 NEMA Lite Midgets showed up for the opening race. The last 2 years have been a horror show for the Coy Racing #19 at Thompson. [ 397 more words ]
