Here is an updated picture of the JT-199 head from yesterday. As you see, both of these runners are now to the max limits allowed and polished to a mirror finish.

The deck surface has also been addressed with one more finish to go to get that perfect seal.

Now its time to take it to the max! This head will be getting one of our unique port and polish jobs, 3 angle valve job, milled to straighten the deck surface and assembled with all new parts.

Finished up a nice little mild stock appearing cylinder head over the weekend.

This head has a lot of port and polish work as well as custom valve guide shaping.

This cylinder head is considered one of our stage three head packages due to the upgraded stainless steel valves, aluminum retainers, and 26lb springs.

This head is currently available.

We would like to congratulate all of our customers for their recent feature wins and top five finishes from multiple states.

We have been swamped with fresh engine builds, rebuilds of engines and clutches as well as Silver Bullet cylinder heads and carburetor kits.

Here is a little tech talk Tuesday.

Had a customer send me this carburetor from a hemi predator engine for a rebuild.

The customer stated that the engine started to run poorly and had troubles starting.

Upon first inspection, the inside of this carburetor has very fine dirt particles and doesn't appear to have been maintained properly.

I asked a few more questions in regards to type of air filter, maintenance of air filter and how often the filter has been changed.

The customer stated that the air filter type is just a cheap angled air filter that almost every kart shop sales. They also stated that they have been just taking the filter off and blowing it out with compressed air when it appears to be dirty.

The important thing about these types of filters is the proper "setup" for the normal dirt kart applications. These style of filters are cheaper than others for certain reasons. Do they work? Of course! It just takes some extra steps to make sure your protecting your engine internally.

I recommend the following to all of my customers running these types of filters on our engines or someone elses:

1. If using new filter out of the package, the filter needs to be "oiled" with some type of air filter oil. There are several different brands for this.

2. Have multiple filters for race day. The first defense to keep an engine in top performance is the air filter. Have enough ready so that a clean air filter can be installed on the engine everytime it goes on the racing surface.

3. Clean filters early in the week prior to race day. I personally clean with simple green, rinse with water and then allow to air dry. I do not use compressed air to dry.
