Coach Mel's Fitness Sorry…business closed in Aug 2023 On July 9, 2015 I underwent a bilateral mastectomy, due to a diagnosis of breast cancer.

Since then I have been super focused on helping others be healthy BEFORE they NEED to be healthy. I believe my dedication to clean eating and fitness played a huge role in my speedy recovery from this major surgery, I was able to run in a 5 mile road race just one month after surgery and was only 23 seconds slower than the prior year. I began this journey back in February of 2015, I am so thankful

that I took the time to get healthy and I absolutely love all of the programs Beachbody has to offer. I 'm here to motivate, encourage and coach you during your cleaning eating and fitness journey!!

This weeks live YouTube class, Thursday August 14th and 9:00 am will be all about LEGS! I usually do full body workouts…but this will be a bit of a change. We will do all legs exercises. It will be a shorter class, probably around 30 minutes. See you then!

Tomorrow’s class (8/7) live on YouTube at 9:00 am, will be a walk fit/cardio class. This class requires no equipment. We will alternate between marching(walking) in place and doing a more active movement to increase your heart rate. I’ve changed the timing a little bit, the active movement will be longer than the marching. This class is perfect for anyone since you move at your own pace.

Today’s (7/24) live class, at 9:00 am on YouTube will be Coach Mel’s Big M.A.C (muscle and cardio). You will need a set or two of hand weights and some water…that’s all. This will be a full body workout with cardio blasts between the strength rounds. I hope you’ll join me…I’m here to help you be healthy BEOFE you NEED to be healthy!

Tomorrow’s (7/17) class at 9:00 am on YouTube Live will be Totally Tábata. We will do 4 sets of each round, two moves in each round, there are 5 rounds. Lower, Upper, Combo, Abs, and Cardio. The timing is work for 20 seconds and rest for 10. After completing the 4 sets you will have a 1 minute break before moving to the next round.

We will finish with what I refer to as the Finale. We will do each move (that’s 10 in total) for 20 seconds with a 10 second rest between each move . I hope you will join me in an effort to be healthy BEFORE you NEED to be healthy!

Tomorrow’s (7/10) workout on YouTube Live at 9:00 am will be Coach Mel’s Boot Camp. This is a full body workout including abs and cardio in each of the 3 rounds. There WILL BE some floor work for the ab section. You will need a set or two of dumbbells, water and a floor mat. I will give you some alternatives for the ab section if you do not want to do the floor work.

Almost forgot to post about today’s workout (July 3rd). Join me at 9:00 am live on my YouTube channel for a HIIT (high intensity interval training) workout. This will have a bit more focus on cardio than strength. No equipment needed…have some water nearby. Workout is good for all levels, don’t let the name scare you!

Join me on YouTube Live tomorrow morning (6/26) at 9:00 am for a full body strength and core workout. This will be a 45 minute workout, there will be NO floor work. You will need some weights, you will have time to switch weights so if you have a couple different sizes that would be great.

I typically sign on at about 8:55am and do my best to start promptly at 9:00.

Tomorrow’s class, live on YouTube, will be a walk fit/ cardio class. This will be a 30 minute class that requires no equipment. Here is the format for tomorrow’s (June 12th) live YouTube class!

Strength and Cardio will be our focus and the class will be around 30 minutes long That means a lot of reps in a short amount of time.

We’ll start will lower body strength, so grab some heavier(ish) weights if you have them. Then we’ll do a quick cardio burst. Next we’ll focus on upper body strength (medium weights) and that will also be followed by a quick cardio burst. And that’s it, a quick full body workout (well we always warm up and cool down).
