Day 1 of Instructor Week is officially in the books, and practice was 🔥🔥🔥

CJ and Josh did an outstanding job introducing some beautiful techniques and concepts surrounding guard retention, guard development, and guard strategy in general. There was a ton of value on the mats today, and we’re just getting started.

I can’t wait to see what the rest of the week has in store.

The guys will be teaching at 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM throughout the week. If you’re looking to sharpen your game, expand your understanding of Jiu-Jitsu, and get exposed to some high-level instruction, you don’t want to miss it.

All gyms and affiliations are welcome.

A special thank you to Prof. Ashley Hollingshad of JM Modern Jiu Jitsu for sharing her knowledge, experience, and passion with our community. We are grateful for your time and for helping empower the women on our mats.

Last night was one of my favorite nights of the year.

Our semi-annual promotion ceremony is about so much more than belts and stripes. It’s about recognizing the countless hours of hard work, dedication, consistency, and sacrifice that each student has invested in themselves.

As a coach, there are few things more rewarding than watching someone accomplish a goal they once thought was out of reach. Seeing the pride in their eyes, the confidence in their posture, and the reactions from their families is something that never gets old.

The real reward isn’t the belt. The belt is simply the symbol. The real gold is the validation that comes from knowing your effort mattered. That the early mornings, late nights, tough rounds, frustrations, setbacks, and persistence all led to growth.

People walk through our doors for many different reasons—confidence, fitness, self-defense, competition, community, discipline, or personal growth. What they don’t always realize is exactly how they’ll get there. They just know they want something more from themselves.

Nights like last night are special because that’s when they finally see it.

They see that every class attended, every challenge faced, and every moment they chose not to quit was building something far greater than a belt. It was building character, confidence, resilience, and belief in themselves.

Congratulations to everyone who earned a promotion. Your hard work was recognized, but more importantly, it was earned.

I’m grateful to be part of the journey. 🖤🥋

The the_agf Kids World Championships was an unforgettable weekend for the Science of Jiu Jitsu Competition Team.

Our athletes earned:

🥇 1st Place Overall Team
🏆 Under the Same Roof Award

These awards represent much more than wins and medals. They represent countless hours on the mats, hard rounds, early mornings, tournament preparation, and a commitment to becoming better every single day.

One of the things that makes this team special is that our athletes genuinely enjoy being around one another. They train together, push each other to improve, travel together, and celebrate each other’s successes. The culture they have built is something we are incredibly proud of.

To our parents, thank you. Thank you for trusting us with your children, for supporting them through victories and setbacks, and for making the sacrifices necessary to help them chase their goals. Your dedication behind the scenes is a huge part of everything this team accomplishes.
