Only 175 days til Oireachtas!

Designed to commemorate America’s 250th birthday in 2026, our Mid-Atlantic Oireachtas logo reflects the history, pride, and spirit that make our region unique. We are proud to celebrate this historic milestone together. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έβœ¨

At the heart of the design is Independence Hallβ€”the birthplace of American independence and a symbol of Philadelphia’s pivotal role in shaping our nation. The gold stars and radiant beams represent unity, hope, progress, and the bright future ahead.

Red roses, the national floral emblem of the United States, symbolize strength, resilience, passion, and community pride, while flowing blue accents reflect movement, connection, and the waterways that unite the Mid-Atlantic region.

Classic ribbon banners and bold lettering give the logo a timeless Americana feel, celebrating not only where we come from, but also where we are going together.

Every detail was thoughtfully chosen to honor 250 years of American history while showcasing the energy, culture, and enduring spirit of the Mid-Atlantic. β€οΈπŸ’™β

Irish dance competitions are called feiseanna or feises (pronounced "fesh-ah-nah" or "fesh-es"). Local feises allow dancers to move through the various dancing levels, to ultimately make their way up to the championship level.

At each feis, dancers will compete with other children (or adults) their age and level and receive feedback on their dancing from judges.

The levels are:
- Beginner
- Advanced Beginner
- Novice
- Prizewinner
- Preliminary Championship
- Open Championship

Once a dancer reaches a certain level, they are eligible to compete at the regional level. There, they can qualify to compete at national and world-level competitions.

The best way to close out St. Paddy's Day week was with a trip to Riverdance at The Stanley Theatre in Utica!

Several of our dancers and their families came to join in the fun. What a spectacular performance!
