We are already getting calls, texts, and emails asking whether Valentine Arms is going to be open at 12:01 a.m. to start transferring suppressors without a Form 4.
The simple answer is NO.
Valentine Arms is a federally licensed fi****ms dealer and Special Occupational Taxpayer (SOT), and we are required to conduct NFA transfers in accordance with the laws, regulations, and procedures that are actually in effect.
We are aware of the recent court developments, and we are following them closely. However, a court decision, a headline, or someone's interpretation on Facebook does not automatically change the procedures an FFL/SOT is required to follow.
Until there is official, legally effective guidance or other authoritative direction changing those requirements, Valentine Arms will continue processing and transferring NFA fi****ms under the current procedures.
That includes suppressors, short barreled rifles (SBRs), short barreled shotguns (SBSs), Any Other Weapons (AOWs), and machine guns where lawful and applicable.
We aren't going to gamble our federal fi****ms license, our SOT, or our customers' transfers based on rumors, social media posts, or "Facebook attorneys" telling everyone what they think the law means.
When the rules actually change, we will change with them.
As soon as authoritative guidance is issued and a change becomes legally effective, we will post an update explaining what it means for Valentine Arms customers and begin following the new procedures when they take effect.
Until then, it's business as usual.
