Dignity is something we all deserve—but it is also something we are called to practice.
It lives in the way we speak to ourselves after a mistake.
In the boundaries we honor.
In the grace we offer another person.
In how we respond when someone’s experience differs from our own.
Dignity asks us to recognize the humanity in one another without abandoning our own.
It doesn’t require agreement.
It doesn’t ask us to remain silent or tolerate harm.
It asks us to remember that every person—including the one looking back at us in the mirror—is worthy of respect, care, and compassion.
Perhaps dignity isn’t only found in life’s defining moments.
Perhaps it is revealed in the tiny choices we make every day about how we treat ourselves—and one another.
Dignity is remembering that no one’s humanity—including your own—is negotiable.
