Seattle University Cycling Club

Seattle University Cycling Club We are the Seattle University Cycling Club. Live to the Max We race, but we also just love to ride bikes. We race our bikes March-May, but we ride all year!

The Seattle University Cycling Club was founded in 2011, by the honorable Max Snyder, a graduate of Seattle U in 2014. Ever since, the SUCC has been a part of the Northwest Collegiate Cycling Conference, an organization run by USA Cycling. Email us for group ride information and events, as we are usually running group rides every weekend in Seattle, leaving on Seattle U's campus. In 2015, our belo

ved friend and founder, Max Snyder, was killed abroad. He embodied the best of the cycling community and of the Seattle University community. A leader, caregiver, amazing cyclist, and community organizer, Max brought joy every where he went and inspired everyone he met. We try our best to honor Max through this club and continue his legacy.

We're happy to announce that we are working with Husky Cycling Club to organize the first Northwest Collegiate Cycling event since 2019! The *Ravensdale/Seward Omnium* will be April 15th/16th, 2023 featuring a road race on Saturday and a criterium on Sunday.

All amateur racers are invited to come out to the road race! For category information check out the link below.

Separately for the criterium, we are offering amateur/collegiate combined women's categories, and an amateur men's 4/5 category in addition to our collegiate-only categories.

Registration for the event is here: https://www.bikereg.com/ravensdale-seward-omnium

We also are looking for volunteers and homestays for the weekend, info here: http://www.huskycyclinguw.com/volunteer-or-host-a-homestay

We are super excited to have a collegiate event back on the calendar. I hope you can come out and support our conference!

Hi everyone,

This weekend we will be riding to Discovery Park and then Green Lake along the attached route. It is around 19 miles roundtrip, and is a little over 2 hours. We will be meeting at the bell turnaround at 10am and departing at 10:15am on Saturday morning. However we will likely stop at a bakery for some yummy coffee/snacks!

Also, a representative of STK, Mckenzie Campbell, reached out to spread the news about this awesome event coming up this summer so PLEASE give it a read:

β€œHello SU friends! I wanted to connect with you about an opportunity for you to participate in a really unique event. We're getting ready to open registration for SEA TRI KAN--a 5-day, cross-state bike tour that supports World Relief and our work locally with refugees. It would be wonderful to get a group from SU this year! worldreliefseattle.org/stk It's meant to be doable for even new cyclists who are willing to put in a bit of spring training. And this year we're offering a limited number of group registration discounts in order to make it a little more accessible for students on a budget. I hope you'll share the information with the SU community. And if you have any further questions or ideas you can reach me at [email protected]”

See you on Saturday!

Hi Everyone,

We will be riding the Mercer Island loop this weekend! A very beautiful ride that I highly recommend you attend! The ride is approximately 24 miles and would take 2 hours 30 minutes. The weather reads sunny all Saturday and around 50 degrees throughout the ride. We meet at the bell turnaround at 10am and leave at 10:15amπŸ‘πŸ‘.

See you Saturday morning!

Hi everyone,

This weekend we will be riding to Discovery Park via the Montlake cut and checking out the lighthouse, then we will circle back via the magnolia and Elliot bay trail. The ride is 20.6 miles and is approximately a 2.5 hour venture. We will be leaving from the bellarmine turnaround at 9am and the weather reads a cool high 50’s with light rain; so dress warm and somewhat waterproof. Also, apologies on the delay about training information, it is coming soon!

See you Saturday morning!

Hello students!!
The Seattle U Cycling Club is in need of new officers for the 2017-2018 school year and beyond! This club has such an important legacy to carry forth and we want it to continue for as long as possible. Our stellar guy Jeremy has agreed to carry the torch as President, but this club can't function without help!

If you are interested in roles such as: Vice President, Treasurer, Risk Manager (you get to bring the First Aid kit to races ;) ), PLEASE email me (Heidi!) at [email protected].
Thanks so much!

It's a 5th place podium spot at USAC Collegiate Cycling Cyclocross Club Nationals!! I decided to bring back the ancient SU skinsuit from Track Nats (well known as the weirdest looking skinsuit ever made), got it super duper muddy (sorry Tanja), and placed 5th. There were mud slides and way too much running for any bike race to require.

Not coming home yet though- I'll be racing the Women's Elite U23 race on Sunday, for Keller-Rohrback Cycling. USACycling will have a stream of the race! Tune in!

Huge, huge thanks to Seattle University Cycling Club, Seattle University, Women in Sports Enrichment, my pit crew and everyone here at Nats who has been so welcoming and helpful. Couldn't do it without you all.

-Heidi
