10/19/2019
2019 was another great season, with many new experiences and challenges along the way! I started off by getting knocked down for a month from the flu, but that just motivated me to train harder with a goal of getting back on form for Dirty Kanza. After a strong result at DK, I headed to the badlands of North Dakota to take on, and win, the Maah Daah Hey 100. It was an unforgettable experience! I was also able to participate in and win our local EFTA NECS Marathon series, as well as the XC series. I also mixed in some gravel races and long-distance mountain bike races throughout the season and met so many new people in the New England race scene - I love what's happening here! π΄ββοΈβ€οΈ
It wasn't just about races this year -
I got to know our local cycling community better through things like hosting a "Let's Talk Gravel" evening with which gave me the opportunity to talk about all things gravel-related and share many of my experiences with others. I've also really gotten to love not only riding our trails, but also maintaining them! I helped with trail work days, did lots of work on our local trail system, and hosted a trail work day with Specialized & Cycling Concepts which was a great success!
I feel very fortunate to have so much support from .sev, my family, friends, local bike community and sponsors. I had so many amazing experiences and made new friendships which I am so very thankful for. I'm looking forward to the off season, riding with Brett, spending time with our pups, hitting the weights, going for trail runs, challenging myself in new ways, and thinking about goals for 2020. A very sincere thank you to my sponsors who were so supportive every step of the way and helped make this an unforgettable season:
