I always enjoy hearing about what other people are up to and what goals they have for themeselves in the upcoming year. Setting goals keeps motivation high, brings focus, determination and the attitude to never quit.
-
For me, I feel like it's a theme of 'going the distance' in 2020...

Push my body, mind and pedals to go further and to new places, starting with a race in a mill in Maine next weekend followed by the True Grit NUE 100 MTB race in Utah this March.

Connect with our cycling community more to help create experiences and moments that will be remembered. I'm looking forward to some fun events with again this year!

Trail advocacy - maintaining, improving multi-use trails for our community, educating people on trail etiquette and hosting a trail cleanup day.

Race my heart out at mountain bike and gravel events.

Pedal with new meaning to create awareness in support of non-profit conservation organizations working to help our planet & endangered species. What's been happening around the world deeply saddens me. 🌎

(Stretch goal - maybe try an Enduro race! )

Attention ladies! ⬇️

It has come to our attention that the Overland's rapid registration fill has an inadvertent but detrimental effect on women being able to register due to the rather crushing disparity of the women to men participant ratio (like 1 to 9). To combat this and contribute to the support of women's cycling, we've decided to create an unlimited Women's Category on our registration page. Now, as many women who want to race the Overland can do so with no limits and no deadlines. Have at it ladies!

The celebratory ride for Global Fat-bike Day w/ today was another success this year! Bright sunshine w/ temps below freezing made for perfect conditions on the snowy trails. Big thank you to everyone who came out to ride with us and big thanks to Cycling Concepts for the awesome hot food to share with everyone afterwards. Already looking forward to doing this again! 🚴‍♀️

2019 was another great season, with many new experiences and challenges along the way! I started off by getting knocked down for a month from the flu, but that just motivated me to train harder with a goal of getting back on form for Dirty Kanza. After a strong result at DK, I headed to the badlands of North Dakota to take on, and win, the Maah Daah Hey 100. It was an unforgettable experience! I was also able to participate in and win our local EFTA NECS Marathon series, as well as the XC series. I also mixed in some gravel races and long-distance mountain bike races throughout the season and met so many new people in the New England race scene - I love what's happening here! 🚴‍♀️❤️
It wasn't just about races this year -
I got to know our local cycling community better through things like hosting a "Let's Talk Gravel" evening with which gave me the opportunity to talk about all things gravel-related and share many of my experiences with others. I've also really gotten to love not only riding our trails, but also maintaining them! I helped with trail work days, did lots of work on our local trail system, and hosted a trail work day with Specialized & Cycling Concepts which was a great success!
I feel very fortunate to have so much support from .sev, my family, friends, local bike community and sponsors. I had so many amazing experiences and made new friendships which I am so very thankful for. I'm looking forward to the off season, riding with Brett, spending time with our pups, hitting the weights, going for trail runs, challenging myself in new ways, and thinking about goals for 2020. A very sincere thank you to my sponsors who were so supportive every step of the way and helped make this an unforgettable season:
