On this day in 1992, the Hartford Whalers unveiled their new blue uniforms and silver logo.

Part of the reason? Quebec Nordiques owner Marcel Aubut had apparently said the Whalers looked "little" in their green road uniforms. Whalers owner Richard Gordon unveiled the new set, saying the team wanted to “keep some of the past and also show some of the future.”
