No limits 💯

Was headed into the race with a sub 2:00 goal with a low bar of an 8:40 pace, knowing the race atmosphere always brings out something not found in training.

Didn’t expect this result, yet happy to know the hours put in came to fruition when it mattered. It felt good to run with the best of them.

Progress in the gym is non-linear.
⁣⁣
I’m a huge advocate for lifting heavy, that does NOT mean I place all the value of my training on what numbers I put up. ⁣⁣

If you’re not doubting whether what you are doing is a great idea, then it’s not a great idea.

1. Your meal plan
2. The sets x reps from a challenging exercise
3. That you can achieve 10,000 steps/day
4. The benefits of real boundaries for yourself
5. Setting time aside in your day to ”do you”
Etc.

Doubt, like most things, is a double-edged sword.

What’s the positive side you may ask?

It’s a sign that you’re in uncomfortable territory, which means there lies opportunities to vanquish your doubt through action.

In these moments of doubt, ask yourself:

“What would make me proud?”

Physical pain is a COMPLEX problem.

With so many factors at play, it warrants a genuine conversation about a person's health, fitness, and injury history.

Surgery has become an accepted first line of defense for our culture at large when it is actually the complete opposite. People talk about meniscus and rotator cuff surgeries like they're lining up their trophies for how beat up they are, like it's a good thing.

Surgery is so rarely the answer for common, lingering pains. Your level of activity, exercise routine, job, and posture are the real answers. But it's neither sexy, quick, or effortless to solve your pain problems in this manner.

If you're in pain, take a harder look at your lifestyle habits. The answer might be closer to home than you think.

A quote to start off your Monday morning.

From Atomic Habits by James Clear.

“The ultimate form of intrinsic motivation is when a habit becomes part of your identity. It’s one thing to say I’m the type of person who wants this. It’s something very different to say I’m the type of person who is this.”

What habit serves you well and that you proudly identify with?
