our club, as well as the entire community of harrisville, lost a key member thursday night. our hearts are shattered at the loss of Bob Swanson. one of the biggest key players in creating, & keeping, this ATV club alive over the decades. over his tenure (27+ years) as a founder & a leader of the club, he had fought hard against anti-ATV citizens, lawmakers & lawsuits, to keep roads & trails open for ATVs in Lewis & St Lawrence counties- plus had taken on the role to be the face of many other battles ATV riders in the area have faced within these years. (2000s were tough!) there is no one else that has had the unwavering support & dedication as he & Keatha has had to this club & ATV community over the years. the time, money & overall selflessness put into this place is unmatched.
from the rod & gun days, to building the clubhouse, mud bogs, drag & MX tracks, his endless security detail, his constant upkeep of club property & belongings (no one could charge those batteries or groom that drag track as perfectly as him. you can take that up with Justine if you think otherwise 😉), his leadership & every idea he had (every one also put into place), were never unnoticed or unappreciated. nothing was ever done unless it was “what would Bob do”.
simply put, this ATV club, or ATV community, would not be what it is today, without him.
Bob had the biggest heart of gold for all he cared about. i don’t think he knew how many lives he actually touched, just by being apart of it.
beside him through all of this, was Keatha. who we cannot forget fueled him & also kept him straight through ALL of these years. who also supported, & fought for this club with him. we love you so much Keatha ♥️ our sympathies & prayers are with you more so than ever.
rest in peace Bob. we hope you never stop watching over us & will always give us clues we’re doing things to make you proud. we love you. ♥️♥️
