When my hubs, , told me, ( ), back in 2018 that SFBC should get these [] heart rate monitors, I laughed and told him, "we already know how hard we work. We don't need a monitor to prove it."
He kept on me for several weeks and eventually I gave in. He's the king of research so I knew if he had already figured out why we needed them, how it would help us, and which ones to get, then we should probably give it a try.
Little did I know that these belts would change our view of fitness and inspire us to move - no matter what life threw at us. From pregnancies and babies, to finding ways to stay fit over zoom during a pandemic, even walking laps in living rooms at 11pm on the last days of the month, the majority of us at SFBC were HOOKED on improving our fitness with these monitors.
THIS specific post is in celebration of the first two members of SFBC to reach DIAMOND STATUS with myzone. And that is a big flipping deal. Diamond status takes THREE YEARS of getting 1300 MEPs (myzone effort points) a month (an average of 3-4 workouts per week). You have to go through 3 months at iron, 3 months at bronze, 6 months for gold, 1 year for silver, and one year for platinum before you hit diamond. And you can't miss or you start over again.
Guys, if you see Kelly & Brandon at the gym, give them a high five for this accomplishment!
And I'm pretty sure we have a handful of people on their heels about to hit diamond 💎 right there with these two! This crew is one of the hardest working I've met, and I'm so proud of them all.
