Tackle football practices have been cancelled for today (Thursday, September 3, 2026) due to heat and unstable evening forecast. Everyone enjoy their weekend, and the bye week.

5:57 Update: The 5:30pm & 6:30pm sessions for U10 Boys Soccer Skills Evaluation have been cancelled due to lightning. Youth Football practice has been cancelled as well.

We are in need of a quite a few youth soccer coaches for our fall season that starts in September. Divisions include Girls U5/U6, Boys U5, and Boys U13. Girls will play Monday/Wednesday evenings, boys will play Tuesday/Thursday evening (U13 has Saturday morning games). If we don't get coaches by the start on September 8, some seasons may need to be delayed. If interested, contact [email protected].

We are ready for our opening weekend of youth football at the Smithland Athletic Complex. Our Harrisonburg team plays the first game at 8:30am against Spotswood. Come support our players!

We are looking for a few referees for our youth flag football league (grades 1-4). Games will be at 5:45pm and 6:45pm starting September 16. Compensation is $30/game. If interested, email [email protected].

We are extending registration until noon on Friday, August 21 for the Middle School Football program. For those who have registered, and still need to get fit for equipment, please schedule that at your earliest convenience. Tentatively, practices would begin on Wednesday, August 19 if we have enough players. Additional program details were emailed to those registered.

There are two weeks left to register for our Fall Youth Flag Football League. We have divisions open to grades 1-2 and 3-4 who live in the City. The season begins on September 9. Don't miss out, register at www.harrisonburgva.gov/activities.

Registration closes in one week for the upcoming Middle School Football season (grades 7-8), and we need players! We are still short from being able to field a team this season. Registration is free, contact us at 540-433-9168 for additional information and to register. Practices are scheduled to begin August 17. Come represent your City team on the field this fall.
