We’ve received several questions lately on sabots and will answer the most common. All of our black sabots are for a 50 caliber gun and .451/.452 bullet. Pictured left to right, Black standard, 3P-EZ, HPH 12, and HPH 24. The difference in these are loaded diameter, petal length, and base design. The loaded diameter left to right, .507, .501, .507, and .505 thousandths. Which one to use? Let your gun tell you based on group size and how hard your rifle is to load, meaning some muzzleloaders are over bored and some are closer to .500 diameter bore. So finding the best combination does require testing and patience.
