Hello all! I have had around a year hiatus from my social media accounts. In the new year I would like to do things a bit differently, mainly just sharing experiences and skills I am comfortable with. To share ideas and to learn from one another. Is there anything you would like to see from me? Crafts, fire skills, camping etc? Thanks in advance for any ideas or suggestions.

Get that water boiling! It was great having a stream only steps away to keep food refrigerated as well as sourcing our drinking water.

Shawnee National Forest is a wonder in itself. Photos can only tell part of the story.
Upon arrival we hiked into the moss and algae covered rock and flowing streams from the spectacular waterfalls. After admiring the clear almost turquoise tinted water, we moved on along the stream to seek out a suitable campsite.
Things don’t always go as planned, and as we crossed the stream, my right foot slipped on an algae covered rock and the weight of my pack took me down into the water, drenching my clothing and most of my gear. hastily got a fire going and I began to dry my things and set up camp right there.
That evening we enjoyed our campfire and ate some steak and talked about life. 🌲
