“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Fitness is so much more than physical strength…it is often a test of mental endurance, discipline, and faith. There are days when the workout feels too heavy, the progress feels too slow, and discouragement tries to creep in. There are mornings when showing up feels harder than the workout itself.

Joshua 1:9 is a reminder that true strength doesn’t come only from our bodies, but from the God who goes with us through every challenge. Just like in fitness, God calls us to keep moving forward even when the path feels hard. He asks us to trust Him, to be courageous, and to not quit when things feel uncomfortable.

In the gym, we push through resistance because we know growth happens there. Spiritually, it’s the same. The hard seasons, the discipline, and the perseverance are shaping us into who God created us to be. Every rep, every drop of sweat, every moment of choosing discipline over comfort can be an act of worship when done for His glory.

As a faith based gym, we are reminded that we never train alone. God is with us in every lift, every run, every struggle, and every victory. He strengthens us not just for the workout, but for life.

Today, walk in courage. Show up. Push through. Trust God with the process. Because the same God who called Joshua to be strong is calling you too.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being with me in every challenge, both in and out of the gym. Help me to be strong and courageous when I feel weak or discouraged. Teach me discipline, perseverance, and faith through this fitness journey. Let my strength be used for Your glory, and remind me that I never walk alone. Amen.

✨ Coach Highlight: Wendy Morse | LEO’s Fitness ✨

If you’ve ever trained at LEO’s Fitness in the early morning, you know the energy, encouragement, and strength that fills the room, and much of that comes from Coach Wendy Morse, who leads our 7:00am, 8:00am, and 8:45am classes!

Wendy brings both experience and heart to every class. She holds her CrossFit Level 1 Certification and Burgener Strength Certification, and she has been committed to fitness for decades, not just as a coach, but as a lifelong athlete. 💪🏼

Her “Why”:
For Wendy, exercise is about far more than fitness, it’s about mental and physical health. Living with diabetes for 29 years, she credits consistent exercise as a key reason she has experienced zero negative effects from the disease. Her story is living proof of how powerful movement can be.

Her Fitness Journey:
Wendy has been working out since she was 18, starting with traditional lifting and treadmill workouts. Sixteen years ago, she tried CrossFit, and never looked back. That decision changed her life and continues to shape how she coaches today.

Workout Vibes:
She’s all about upbeat music, with hip hop taking the top spot. Slow songs? Immediate skip.

Favorites & Least Favorites:
❌ Least favorite: Thrusters (no explanation needed 😅)
✅ Favorite: Toes-to-bar because she can knock out a lot of them and they don’t destroy her (win!).

Proudest Achievement:
One of Wendy’s most meaningful moments was getting her first muscle-up. After years of trying, she finally hit it, and it still stands as a reminder that persistence pays off. Sixteen years ago, she never imagined that would be possible.

Advice for Anyone Considering LEO’s Fitness:
“Just do it. You won’t be sorry.”
Wendy believes LEO’s Fitness goes far beyond the gym. The strength you build carries into everyday life, making daily tasks easier, confidence stronger, and life fuller. Add in the atmosphere, the people, and the constant encouragement, and there’s truly nothing like it.
