Gopher Rifle & Revolver Club We are a private gun club whose objective is to encourage organized r***e, pistol, sh***un, and archery shooting among legal residents of the United States

The Gopher R***e & Revolver Club was organized in the early Forties by a group of employees from Onan Company who shared an interest in fi****ms and shooting. Range facilities were developed on land leased from Anoka county in what is now Bunker Lake Park, Bunker Prairie Park and C**n Rapids Golf Course complex. As a result of the park and urban development, the range was forced to close in the early Sixties. A site was found in 1970 near Harris, MN. which could accommodate a 1,000 yard r***e range, and this initial plot has grown to its current size of 342 acres. Conservation and range development are on-going programs and many thousands of cubic yards of earth have been rearranged while preserving much of the areas’ original condition. On the property, we have a multi-purpose range with backstops at 50, 100, 150 and 200 meters; a sh***un trap range with an electric thrower in a target house and 5 stations and a separate sporting clays tower; a 25 and 50 yard pistol range; a Blackpowder range with targets set at 25, 50, 75 and 100 yards and a Highpower range with target pits and 20 carriers with the firing lines currently at 100, 200, 300, 500, 600, 800, 900 and 1,000 yards. The remainder of the property is about 100 acres of woods, 50 acres of swamps and ponds and another 50 acres’ of grassy fields which include a picnic and camping area. The range is open to members 365 days a year but the general public is only allowed access for the scheduled matches. It is our objective to encourage organized r***e, pistol, sh***un, and archery shooting among legal residents of the United States, with a view toward a better knowledge on the part of such persons in the proper handling and care of fi****ms as well as improved marksmanship. It is also our objective to further the development of these characteristics: honesty, fellowship, self-discipline, team play and self-reliance which are the essentials of good sportsmanship and true patriotism. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
As you've read in the newsletter our membership rates will be changing in 2028 to encourage more volunteerism (workdays) by members. A few of us have brainstormed and come up with a list of opportunities for getting in hours, all at your own pace. But this list is not all inclusive. If you have other ideas, please add to the discussion! Thanks, Tom

8 hours of work = one work day

Sweep out a building
Clean/Sweep a bathroom building
Prune/weedwhip vegetation growing around buildings
Clean windows & window sills in buildings
Use the power washer to shine up the tractors & clean the windows in the John Deere
Keep the firing points looking great by policing trash every month
Maintain the First Aid Kits by swapping out expired or used items, place a dated and signed inspection tag on the box
Adopt a Plot and remove undergrowth from a designated area
Paint the exterior of the permanent bathrooms
Maintain the birdhouses by cleaning out the inside, painting the outside and repairing as needed
Sort the nuts, bolts, nails, other items into the yellow bins
Help the sh***un discipline chair with specific tasks
Post upcoming events on Facebook and tag other FB group pages that may be interested
Find out who needs the monthly newsletter mailed to them and then mail it out each month
Help a member get to club meetings each month by offering a ride
Write newsletter articles
Operate the conference phone during club meetings so others can dial in
Help sign-in potential members before each general member meetings

It's that time of the year again, annual club membership renewal.
Here are the important bullet points:
To claim a workday credit you must have already submitted your workday report.
All renewals must be submitted electronically, no paper submissions will be accepted
Any cash or check payments must clearly indicate your MEMBER NUMBER. Putting your cash payment in an envelope helps keep things straight
PAYING BY CREDIT CARD DIRECTLY ON THE RENEWAL FORM IS 100% PREFERRED AND SAVES OUR VOLUNTEERS WHO PROCESS THESE PAYMENTS A LOT OF TIME. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PAY BY CREDIT CARD.
Just a reminder that Regular Member dues will be changing for the 2028 renewal cycle (next year). For Regular Members the dues will be $500. Regular Members will have the option for 2 work days with a value of $200 per work day completed (8 hours of work).
Vested members the dues/workday amounts stay exactly the same as they have been in the past.

Sh***un Discipline: Thursday Oct 1, ‘26
We’ve reached October so we will be open as weather allows and open days and times may be other than Thursday. We are also dealing with reduced staff, so open times may be shorter. So, please watch this website or contact me or another club member to be sure we are open.
TODAY: The range will be open for open trap and s***t. However, due to limited staff we will close at 5:30 pm. Please plan your time accordingly.
