Creekside Park trails all flooded today (5/15) and not passable. Saw this beautiful coral snake, along with 2 broad banded water snakes and 1 rat snake during our Monday bird walk.

Looking for a cycling adventure next summer? Several of our members have done the Garrett County Gran Fondo in previous years and claim it’s one of the best 1-day rides in the US. Spectacular county, roads in fantastic condition, great organization and aide stations, and hills that are difficult to describe. Various ride lengths and climbing footage that caters to all abilities. Beware, the “Diabolical Double” long ride has about 50% more climbing than Colorado’s “Triple Bypass” stuffed into about the same distance. It’ll be a day on the bike you’ll never forget.

We're back in 2022! The GCGF team is hard at work to make the June 18, 2022, Fondo the best yet, and we can't wait to bring our amazing volunteers and athletes together again for a great summer ride!

Early Bird registration opens December 1, 2021 @ 6 am and continues until January 1, 2022. More information will be shared over the next few months so please be patient, be safe and be prepared for the best ride of your life!

The linked video is definitely worth watching. For those who don’t follow triathlon, Tim O’Donnell finished second in the Ironman World Championships in 2019 and has been very competitive in the professional long-distance world for the last 10+ years...until this. It’s easy for us to think that an active lifestyle and lots of aerobic exercise keeps us safe from these potentially life-ending events. As the video shows, that’s not always the case! Take care!
