Yesterday, we had a great time at the Youth Outdoor Experience, helping kids learn to shoot a scoped rifle. Some arrived full of confidence with prior rifle experience, while others were nervous and only giving it a try because Mom or Dad said they should. No matter where they started, they all left with big smiles on their faces.

One of the most rewarding moments was talking with the mom of a young boy who was just hoping he could become more comfortable around fi****ms. He approached the rifle very hesitantly, but Nate Kreimeyer did an excellent job helping him behind the rifle. After his first few shots, Nate asked if he wanted to keep shooting, and his enthusiastic “Yes!” said it all.

Moments like that are what make events like this so rewarding. We’re grateful for the opportunity to participate and help introduce kids to safe, positive shooting experiences. A special thank-you goes to Troy Tyson and DST Precision for donating the ammunition that helped make the day possible and allowed all of the kids to have such a great experience. Another special thank you to those who volunteered to help- we couldn't have done it without them!

Growing the sport is part of our goal. Last weekend, we participated in Women's Camp, which allows women and girls who may have never shot before, or who have had limited exposure to the shooting sports, an opportunity to try out different shooting disciplines. While the wind was pretty sporty, we were able to get every woman on target with impacts! Many tried out shooting from barricades as well. We hope to see participants at future matches and events! This was about the 5th year we've participated and we plan to be back again next year.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the NRL22 match yesterday! It ended up being a bit more windy than we expected, but was a fun day regardless of wind conditions. We'll post overall weekend scores sometime this week.

Thank you to everyone who made it out for a chilly AND breezy match today! Starting temps were cooler than forecast and winds picked up pretty sharply at start time, so an extra dose of mother nature was an extra stressor to every stage today. Here are the scores after day one. We hope to see everyone again tomorrow to see who will get to take home the Top Shooter trophy. We will also have NRL22 match trophies for tomorrow's match. To say that Desert Metal absolutely crushed it on the trophies for the Mid-Winter Madness Rimfire Weekend being held at GRRC would be an understatement! Sign up for one or both days to get a chance at one of these beauties. D-M Targets also came through with some last minute targets for us. Now that we got that snow out of our system, the weather forecast is looking great for this weekend, so come on out and enjoy some pew pew time!

We spent six hours at the range yesterday hauling barricades and testing stages for next weekend's Mid-Winter Madness Rimfire Weekend being held at Gopher Rifle and Revolver Club. This was just one of multiple loads of barricades hauled throughout the day! Don't miss out on getting to shoot BOTH a PRS Rimfire Series AND an NRL22 match in the same weekend! Additionally, each match will also count for PRO Series match points.
