We are going all out for and invite you to experience the history and fun we have in store.

From zombies in Evans City and spaceships in Mars, to historic happenings in Harmony and Butler-Built Bantams on display!

Get ready for action during Zelienople’s Fourth of July Parade with a 5K fromGet Fit Families, Zelienople Area Public Library’s annual Bed Derby, a visit from the Traveling Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and record-breaking events.

More events are to come, inviting you to celebrate our county’s history and our country’s 250th birthday!

Tomorrow starts race weekend.

At this point, the work is mostly done.

You do not need one more perfect workout.
You do not need to obsess over conditions.
You do not need to panic because you feel nervous.

Tonight is simple:

* lay your gear out
* charge your watch
* review the athlete guide if needed
* get some sleep

The rest gets figured out at the lake.

No race day registration will be available this weekend.

A lot of people spend race week wondering:
“Am I ready yet?”

Truthfully, most athletes never feel completely ready.

That includes experienced athletes too.

You do not need:

* perfect training
* perfect weather
* perfect confidence
* perfect transitions
* perfect nerves

You just need to start.

We’ve spent the last several weeks building:

* athlete guides
* course previews
* beginner support
* packet pickup options
* open water swim support
* race week communication

Because preparation reduces pressure.

Race conditions change every year.

Cool mornings.
Humidity.
Rain.
Wind.
Unexpected stuff.

That’s normal.

The athletes who usually have the best experience are not the ones waiting for perfect conditions.

They’re the ones who prepare, stay flexible, and adjust.

And the good news is:
everyone adjusts together.

Right now, race weekend is looking very manageable overall. Cooler mornings can actually help performance for a lot of athletes.

Focus on:

* hydration
* laying gear out early
* arriving with time to settle in
* staying calm if conditions shift a little

You do not need a perfect forecast to have a good race.

A surprising amount of race week anxiety sounds like this.

And honestly… that’s normal.

A lot of athletes think everyone else has it all figured out.

They don’t.

People worry about:

* the swim
* transition
* getting lost
* forgetting gear
* looking silly
* weather
* whether they belong there

Most of the time, the hardest part is just showing up.

The good news:
the conditions for this weekend actually look really solid overall, and there will be volunteers, course support, aid stations, signage, and a whole community around you all weekend.

You do not need to feel perfectly prepared to participate.

A lot of athletes wait until race week because they’re trying to decide if they feel ready.

That’s normal.

Most people are not deciding between racing and not racing.

They’re deciding whether:

they trained enough
they understand the course
they can handle the swim
they know what to expect
they’ll belong there

That uncertainty is exactly why we built the athlete guide, course previews, beginner videos, open water swim support, and race week resources.

You do not need to feel perfect to participate.

You just need a place to start.

The athletes who usually feel the calmest on race morning are not always the most experienced.

They’re the ones who prepare early.

This week is a good time to:

* check your bike and equipment
* test nutrition and hydration
* review the athlete guide
* plan packet pick-up
* look over the course maps
* organize race morning gear
* think through transitions
* get extra sleep

Small preparation decisions reduce race-week stress.

You do not need to be perfect.

You just want to feel prepared enough to focus on the experience instead of scrambling at the last minute.
