THE HOLY GOD and our filth - final part.
P E A C E.
“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God” (Rom. 5:1-2).
When God creates a ‘peace treaty’, it is for perpetuity, our war with him is over, forever and ever. We have peace that is sealed and guaranteed for us by Christ. Access to the Father is ours.
We tremble before his holiness, but it is the tremor of awe and veneration. As his children we do not want to displease our beloved Heavenly Father.

THE HOLINESS OF GOD and our filthiness. part 3
Sometimes it almost seems God has to dangle us over the pit of hell before our stubbornness fades to the point where we can truly see and almost smell the filthiness of our sin and we can see God as just and justifier. It is then we can see the connection between the justice of God and the statement “the just shall live by faith”. The justice of God is that righteousness by which through grace and mercy God justifies us through faith.

GOD’S HOLINESS and our filth - part 2
When we are in mourning for our sin and go beyond cheap grace and the easy words “I am sorry” and experience the awful pain of repentance, we are cleansed throughout, forgiven to the core and see just a very tiny bit of God’s holiness, giving us inner peace.

GOD’S HOLINESS and our filth! - part 1
In Isaiah 6 we get just a small glimpse of how holy God is and how filthy our sin makes us. When God reveals his holiness we are exposed, and our sinful self, like Isaiah, makes us cry out in pure moral anguish, the kind that rips out the heart of man and tears his soul to pieces. But God is also a God of grace.
