So much happening in sports I don't know where to start. Let's start with college football. Dating back to 1985 including The University of Tennessee and The University of Florida, in football Kentucky has had the distinction of having the longest losing streak to one school. They finally broke the one with the Vols in 2010 after 26 years. The current streak with Florida is at 31 years beginning in 1987. When will it end? Probably when UK has 11 men on defense and they don't leave Florida's receivers wide open in the end zone. Vanderbilt players learned Saturday that you don't trash talk Alabama. LOL, ROLL TIDE! Tennessee beat UMass in a laugher 17-13. Most folks were laughing at Tennessee. USC, Michigan, Ohio St., Clemson, Oklahoma were some of the top teams that won this past week. One thing that has captured everyone's attention is the kneeling of NFL players during the playing of the National Anthem. I'll say this much because I want to keep away from politics. If you don't stand for our flag I don't want anything to do with you pro, collegiate or otherwise. Another bit of shocking news is the FBI investigation of money being funneled by NCAA basketball assistant coaches and other sports related persons to recruits to play at certain schools. Schools named so far, there could be more, are Arizona, Auburn, USC, and Oklahoma State. Miami Florida is being investigated. A bunch of bad stuff going on in college basketball. And if that wasn't enough, Rick Pitino is out as Louisville 's head basketball coach. Seems like 100,000 dollars went from someone with the University of Louisville to the family of a 5 star recruit to come to Louisville, which he did. One would think that Pitino would be on top of everything to do with his now former program seeing as how he knew more better than anybody except maybe Eddie Sutton what happened at Kentucky. Either he was up to nogood himself or he is the most gullible person in the world. A once illustrious coaching career with over 700 victories, 2 NCAA championships, 7 final fours and he could very well be remembered as the coach who led Louisville to the death penalty in college basketball. What a shame! Till next time.
