Excitment as SCS Host World of Outlaws!

What a fantastic night of racing at SCS as the World of Outlaws Late Model series invaded the fairgrounds at Harlan. 31 Outlaws were on hand and the crew at SCS gave them a beautiful racing surface to run on. This event was streamed on DirtVision TV and anybody that watched were not disappointed. Including the enthusiastic fans on hand. After hot laps and qualifying, Heats got underway with Dalton Wilson taking heat 1. Heat 2 was Dennis Erb Jr.. Heat 3 honors were taken by Nick Hoffman, and the 4th heat winner was Justin Duty. In the last chance showdown, the top 9 went on to the main event. The winner was Dustin Sorensen followed by Eli Johnson and Andrew Kosiski.
In the $20K 50 Lap feature event Dalton Wilson got out to the lead and was followed closely by Tristan Chamberlin. Then Bobby Pierce was coming through the pack and was closely racing with Wilson. Wilson got sideways in turns 1 and 2 and they made contact with ,Wilson still going and Pierce stopping. Wilson never stopped. Pierce was put to the tail. On the restart it looked as if Wilson had it won. But seemingly out of nowhere Ethan Dotson challenged him coming out of turn 4 on the last lap and passed him at the checkered flag. Wow what a fantastic feature this was. SCS delivered again.
We also had KNOD IMCA Hobby Stocks and Coca-Cola IMCA Sport Compacts for support classes. In Hobby Action Heat winners were Anthony Davis and Zach Hemmingsen. In the feature Jason Fusselman driving Branden Nielsens, other car was tough up front as Fuzzy went on to pick up the win over a charging Anthony Davis who got 2nd followed by Jake Waters, Brian Buboltz and Colby Christensen.
In the Sport Compact action heats were taken by Josh Deist and Caine Mahlberg. In the feature we had a scary moment Trey Hinton rolled in the backstretch but was OK. Then in another scary moment as the 6D of Zach day burst into flames between turn 1&2. The safety crew got there to put out a pesky fire and assisting Zach out of the car. So very glad Zach was OK. It truly was an anxious and scary moment. Meanwhile Michael Gardner found his was to the front and went on for the win over Caine Mahlberg, Tyler Fiebelkorn, Dave Coenan and Brooke Osler.
What a fun night of racing again at SCS. I can’t believe we are at the end of the season already. We now move on the season finale with the 34th annual Tiny Lund Memorial with the IMCA Late Model Nationals on September 18th and 19th. Keep an eye out for details to be released soon.
