Bad news for this year. Unless I can get somebody to help me, I am going to have to call off the matches for the 2025 year. I have to have surgery on both of my knees, and they will not do them both at once.
I am tired of not being able to walk or sleep or shoot matches because of the pain associated with it.
I would be happy to write the stages and assist where I can for set up if anybody wanted to volunteer to help me.

My thanks to all of the shooters that came out this year! My initial thoughts were to not run the matches next year, but the only two things in life that I have quit was smoking and diets, so we will shoot next year.
I am going to go back to the fourth weekend since going to the second weekend did not help with attendance, and the Highpower Director for the range would like to go back to shooting the second weekend.
I really do appreciate all of the people that did come out and shoot. Even if we get six or seven people to shoot each match next year, I thoroughly enjoyed their company, and look forward to seeing them again next year.
I do plan on only doing 5 stages per match next year, and am looking at doing pocket pistol and derringer in the side matches (just for Dogbite).
Another thing that I am going to do is to use the covered area to run the stages so that the shooters are not baking in the sun on the hotter days.
I look forward to seeing all of the shooters again next year, and thank you for coming out!

The last match of the year went well. Seven shooters. Congrats to Truckee as the first overall shooter.
We had another first time shooter this shoot when Timberdoodle came down.

Well, bad news. There will not be a match on September 14th. It looks like there was a mix up that I did not catch right away. There is a drag race in Michigan once a year that I participate in on that day, and I will be doing that instead.

Planning on a match on Saturday, August 10th. I am only going to do 5 stages this time. I feel like the older crowd that we are, we tend to tire quickly, and 5 stages may be the limit. I am getting the BIG targets back out, and the stages are going to be fun, fast, and easy with shooter options. There should be plenty of cleans. Come out and beat up on the Match Director. I am finally going to play and let Michigan Slim beat up on the old fat guy!

I have a match scheduled for Saturday, June 22nd. Weather is supposed to be very hot. I will gladly run the match if we have people commit to show up. I usually set up on Thursday or Friday.

We had a good match this Saturday. Many thanks to the 13 shooters that showed up. It was a very nice day as long as the sun stayed out. The wind was blowing enough to make it easier for the people shooting the heathen Black Powder loads.
Congrats to the match winner, Michigan Slim. It would have been Big Iron Bohanon, but on his last stage he had 4 misses. It was so bad that Little Iron Lucielle even felt bad for him (doesn't happen often).
Congrats to Smokey Kid for his first ever clean match. Last year, he came close, but this year he closed the deal. He was also the only clean shooter of the day.
We had 2 new shooters, Lefty Lamard and Deadeye Dean. Predictably, they finished last, but they did show a lot of promise and they will do much better the next time out.
Next month, the match will be on June 22nd since the Indiana State Championship is on the second weekend of the month, and FWRR has their own state championship match the second weekend of the month.
Once again, my sincere thanks to the 13 shooter that came out. It made for a nice day. Next month, I may just dust off my cowboy guns and join in the fun.

PS. I just saw the date on the scorecard. It is a mistake. It was actually supposed to be 5-11

Gonna try this again. Saturday, May 11th, come on out and shoot. 6 easy stages starting at 10 AM. Registration starts at 0900, and that is also when side matches start. Side matches are warm up stage, speed pistol, rifle, and shotgun, and 22 combo.
