I learned this the hard way when I was dieting myself for a figure competition. My diet was so limited it was ridiculous š¤Æ
NOTHING sweet, not even from fruit?! I literally would dream about desserts and I would watch food network and literally drool. I started collecting all the goodies that I didnāt get to eat for 3 months in my freezer with the thought of eating it after the show.
Welp⦠I definitely did that. Can I just tell you the physical pain it caused, doubled over in pain for 2-3 months post comp. Not to mention I ballooned. Ugh.
I felt like š©ā¦ But I learn a lesson.
DONāT MAKE A FOOD FORBIDDEN (unless you have an allergy) sometimes just knowing you can have it lessens the appeal.
And if youāre thinking, āYeah, okay Jaime⦠but if itās in the house, Iām eating it,ā I get it.
A couple things that can help:
1. Buy it less often. You donāt have to ban it, but you also donāt need it available 24/7.
2. Have it after a proper meal - ideally protein and some fiber, like veggies and/or fruit.
You may find you donāt want it as much anymore. Or maybe you still have it, but you eat less and actually enjoy it without feeling out of control.
Either way, thatās a win. ā¤ļø
