Harbor Judo Dojo Open Enrollment now being accepted for all ages. Harbor Judo Dojo was established in January 1973 by Mr. James Kamimura and Mr. M. Kumamoto, succeeded by Mr.

Kenji Honbo to serve the needs of the youths within the community of Harbor City, Torrance, Lomita, Wilmington, San Pedro and Palos Verdes and to also provide Dojo representation for these areas in the Nanka Judo Yudanshakai. Throughout the many years of effort and leadership, Harbor Judo Dojo was able to attract sincere and dedicated instructors beginning with our first head instructor, Mr. Minor

u Tabata, Mr. Toshiyuki Seino, Mr. Hiroaki Aoki and Mr. Gus Hanaoka with Mr. Gary Takemoto serving as our head instructor from 1986 to present. Today, Harbor Judo Dojo continues to serve, participate and actively promote the activities of Judo within the Judo community and is a contributing member of the Nanka Judo Yudanshakai and Nanka Rengo Fukei-kai

Some pictures of our team from this weekend. Nikkei Games was a great time! We love how our families come together to support each other, how our older kids help guide our littles, and how our parents are always willing to lend a hand to help with the tables! Congratulations to all our medalists!

Jr. Olympics is a wrap and we’re so proud of everyone’s performance! In our small group of 8 kids, we had 3 Infantile Pan American qualifiers, 2 Gold medals, and 1 Silver medal.

Maya qualified for her 4th and final Infantile Pan Ams. Diego qualified for the first time, and Jonathan makes his second team!

In the International tournament, our kids all performed amazingly! 3 gold, 2 Silver, and 2 Bronze but more importantly, they corrected mistakes that they made from Day 2 and impressed us with how great they looked.

Congratulations to Emma Alversado on being awarded the Nanka Judoka of The Year award for 2025. We are so proud of her accomplishments and growth in the sport of judo but we are more proud of the person she has become.
