Atlanta Studies 2026! What a fun event 🎉 Had a great time talking about bicycling with new and old friends. Thanks for gathering us for a discussion at lucky 13th!!

Also enjoyed being part of the planning team, looking forward to next year, if not before! A committed group of academics who are community engaged celebrated 13 years of looking at Atlanta and beyond in honor and celebration of Dr. Cliff Kuhn. 🙏🏾✨🎉🌺🌱

It’s was not that too long ago we, Szelyn, Linda, and I took off on a ride from Seattle to Portland, 206 miles in 2 days with Cascade Bicycle Club. It was this ride with friends across terrain and digging deep in myself to complete a challenge that bicycling became a love. Riding all over Seattle up and down hills, through the woods, over all types of trails, and to destinations new and repeat, riding a bike is more than sport, like nature it’s deeply spiritual. Especially in nature, wild places, and where more formative connections to surroundings are the ultimate stimulation. Happy to see friends and experience the geography of the Pacific Northwest again!!

Slow travel is the best travel! For board meeting road first time since escorting a groups of teens from Camp Wanna-Klot from where I volunteered 5 years, we took campers to visit DC and the national treasures there. Experienced a nice conversation with staff, one new and one veteran TA gave me the rundown about the interior upgrades. From memory, there were cool leather seats, the veteran TA said cloth. Either way, hands-free ride up and back. There was an afternoon snowfall in Charlottesville and the windchill brought down temps. I walked almost 3 miles, out and back, to add layers, did not account for the windchill and the snow came out of nowhere!

We had a great meeting, of course we had a lot of conversation and discussion. I enjoy being with the group of people on this group, who care about the community of descendants where the projects are anchored, who care about the historical record and the various ways to transmit and share/ receive across the generations, and where we can fully show up and be respected for ourselves and our contribution. Thankful to Dr Roberts and her diligence and commitment to history, heritage, and cultural landscapes.

A fun day of bike repair! A long time relationship with Safe Kids Georgia that began when working at Georgia Bikes, now Go Georgia. Safe Kids offer programs and supplies to families and care takers to keep children alive and injury free! Data shows that 9 out of 10 accidents are preventable— let that sink in. Safety Town is a way for children to practice road safety on bicycles and rolling devices.

Happy to service these bicycles and reconnect to an organization doing good work across the state and region!

Haha, because we have bike parts tubes— 10in, 12 in, 24 in, 8-speed chains and helmets for sale. DM if you have children’s bicycle needs. :)

Day 2 riding and had a crash that left me literally shaking and in shock. A person riding an e-scooter 🛴 (grown adult) hopped off the sidewalk heading the wrong way and right into me. “Anna”, her boyfriend called to her, she responded , “I’m fine! and h umped right up. I was like, in the slow land and ??? The bf asked me a few times if I was okay, couldn’t get my words, took his hand to help me up from under my surly. Thankful for the steelframe, trusty & strong took most of the impact, leaving only a twisted handle bars which didn’t notice until almost home.

🙏🏾Thankful for the two women, one in a white outfit who took time to make sure I was okay- even touching my arm to examine it and make sure there were no serious injuries. She said, “only shock and abrasions.” And then directed me to stand on the side for a while. She said I was lucky the cars stopped, it could have been way worse. The Edgewood drivers probably saw it happening in slow motion— thanks for stopping! 🙏🏾

🛴🛴Hey folks on scooters- 📢 ride the directionally appropriate way in the bike lanes, pay attention, and look before entering the lane. 🛴🛴

Anna’s head was down, looking so she could land the scooter. No time to get out of Anna’s way, she jumped off the curb right in front of me. Bike lanes are pretty narrow so there was no where to move. A line of cars were westbound on Edgewood.

Infrastructure is only as good as the users. ⚠️

Will be okay, bruised swollen and tender— all will mend. Ride smart y’all! 🦋🚲

Saw a friend and a butterfly 🦋.
7 months healing my knee and several in pt— healing an old soccer injury. Nice to ride again, in a happy place— on my surly of course!
