🎙️ SeaBros Fishing Podcast Ep. 89 with “Light Tackle’n”
On this episode we had the pleasure of sitting down with Captain Kevin Albohn of . We came to know Kevin through mutual friends within our fishing networks, and have talked throughout seminar season here in New England.
Kevin’s intro to offshore fishing is similar to a lot of our guests and listeners. He has been a fisherman since he was very young and did his first offshore tuna trip at 13 years old. While pursuing his college degree(s), Kevin worked in the marine industry as a mechanic at a local marina. He is also a law enforcement veteran where he had the opportunity to spend several years in the marine division. He was trained in tactical boating operations, water rescue and several other marine safety courses. He is also a trained public safety scuba diver.
With over 30 years experience on the water, Kevin is a well respected charter captain and has focused on light tackle offshore fishing. When his eyes were opened to jig and pop style tuna fishing, Kevin has been refining these tactics and has based his charter business around it.
In the conversation, we talk all things light tackle tuna fishing. Kevin discusses topwater tactics, jigging for tuna, and the best ways for safely targeting giant bluefin tuna on light gear. We tell some charter fishing stories, explain some theories, and Kevin shares some recent experiences tuna fishing off North Carolina and in the Gulf of America 🇺🇸
