The Baystate APA Masters division starts up this Friday! The schedule is out - 8 teams are ready to play EVEN races to 7, using jump cues against some of the strongest amateur players in Massachusetts!

Its not too late to put in a team - 10 teams gets us a guaranteed slot for Vegas! If you are on the fence or need players/a team - let me know!

**Cannot have more than two 8-ball skill level 7s on one team. If you have questions about whether or not you can put in a specific team, message me directly**

With the help of our division rep Chris Falkner and our friends in the league, we have gotten over 16 teams out of the Wolves Den Monday through Thursday in the Baystate APA in less than a week! This is an incredible fest accomplished by the venue, the players and our pal Chris.

I want to bring out a little incentive to further fill this room up. Any new teams that sign up out of the Wolves Den Monday - Thursday OR teams that would be interested in a Sunday 9-ball league at the wolves den with an early start time of 4pm or so, reach out and let me know!

Every team captain that has a team out of the Wolves Den by the end of next week will receive the following;

- Autographed Earle Strickland Cueball

- A raffle ticket for an original Kevin Bauccio autographed Earle Strickland Portrait also autographed by Earle.

- A raffle ticket for a one hour group lesson for your team led by a certain local player whose name is on a few walls and banners at Snookers and has beaten some of the best players in the world, as well as some challenge racks where you can earn our new “I beat the League Operator” coins.

- A raffle ticket for a slot in the upcoming APA Northeast Challenge in 2025 at Mohegan Sun! Not a paid slot, but you get a very sought after slot that is very limited but your team would have to pay the balance.

I’ve been getting beat up in league so often lately that I had to order these challenge coins. If you want to come try your luck on the pool table, I’m currently playing in the following divisions and Garrett will have these on him during his pop up promotional tournaments and venue spotlight adventures!

Monday - Westgate Lanes in the 8-ball APA Brockton divison

Tuesday - in-house 8-ball at the Wolves Den in Pembroke. All 7 foot diamond tables!

Wednesday - R.A.W 9-ball division out of the Wolves Den

Thursday - R.A.W 8-ball division out of the Wolves Den

We are trying to show John at the Wolves Den that he should buy 8 more diamond pool tables - that way we can host some major events up here for our friends on the south shore. Help us make this a reality by supporting this new venue and promoting Baystate APA pool!

I will be getting back to jumping around in other areas for league starting with our friends in Taunton and New Bedford next session.

Also, Taunton 9-ball and Stoughton 9-ball are both maxed out currently at 16 teams and Thursdays in Brockton are at 15, so we may be looking to split these divisions next session so that we can have two additional Tricup slots/teams paid out to the players! More to come on that later this session :)

Congratulations to the top 4 teams of the 2nd Annual Baystate APA Cash Cup!

We paid out $15,000 added money yesterday to the teams that made it so close to Vegas but were not able to seal the deal in our 8/9ball World Qualifiers. $5,000 was guaranteed to first place and every team that showed up got paid out, whether it was $200, $5,000 or somewhere in-between.

1st place - Rackemup4jeff
2nd place - Stroke it, Don’t Poke it
3rd place - Shake and Bake
4th place - Cash Me Out

We had a great day of pool and what a finish we had to the event. Rackemup4jeff led by Kevin Medas came from the one loss side to face Dawn Costas team - Stroke it, Don’t Poke it who was undefeated in the hot seat. We did true double elimination, so Dawn and her team had to be beaten twice in order for our friends from Taunton to get the cash.

The first race to 7 went hill hill, almost resulting in a stalemate on the final rack after a wild 8-ball on the break held up so deep in that diamond pocket that no player wanted to continue until they went for a breakout shot that may have won them the game, but it was just a hair off. Rackemup4jeff gained some momentum in set #2 and took care of business. It’s safe to say we will be seeing these teams battle again and I’m sure they both look forward to it.

Thank you again to everyone that came out to support the event. Next stop is Tricups and the MVP tournaments in mid-October!

New venue with four 7 foot diamond tables!

The Wolfs Den in Pembroke has had over 10 teams join their new venue in less than a week and there are not many spots left. With that being said, we are looking to add more teams on the following nights;

Tuesday 8-ball - In-house at the Wolfs Den - play on 7 foot diamond tables every week and enjoy what's sure to be a super fun division of people. I believe there is only 2 spots left, don't get shutout of our hottest new venue.

Wednesday - 9-ball - Travel with the Rockland division (one more new team brings this division up to 12 teams and adds another payout slot and Tricups slot!)

Thursday - 8-ball - Travel with the Rockland division (one more new team brings this division up to 12 teams and adds another payout slot and Tricups slot!)

Separate from the Wolfs Den, we also have another division i want to shout out and help get this up to 12 teams;

Monday - Brockton APA 8-ball - We also need more teams for our brand new APA Brockton division out of Westgate, Ben's Pourhouse and surrounding bars! Westgate in Brockton is getting new blue cloth on their tables in the next two weeks and there is many other venues to play out of.

Fall session is the 2nd session of our standard league year BUT its the first session in regards to our Aloha Tournament! 100+ Baystate APA teams will be playing for a trip to Hawaii in November of 2024 (airfare and hotels included for 5 nights, 6 days for your team in February 2025). Put a new team in any one of our divisions now to start playing for the 2026 Hawaii trip!

2024 APA World Pool Championship in Vegas is almost at an end. We had 9 teams out there and many players out there just to support and play in minis. Whether our teams went all the way or 2 and out, it was a great time and they did us proud.

In the 8-Ball event = Wishful Thinking - 513th place. They were down a few soldiers and missing a crucial low number to play the lineup that helped get them there, so they did what they could with what they had.

In the 8-Ball event = Rack'em Up - Again! - 9th place! This team played so well they didn't get to go outside. To some, that is the perfect Vegas trip and I think Russ and his crew wouldn't have had it any other way. 9th place out of 765 teams is an incredible accomplishment. They were there every step of the way in their final match as well, but sometimes you don't get the rolls.

In the 8-Ball event = Rez-evoir Dawgs - 129th place. Rez and his team had a great run finishing 129th, getting into the cash. The teams in their bracket are lucky that Rez himself wasn't able to play due to the numbers, otherwise they may have had a very different finish in this event.

In the 8-Ball event = Rackless Behavior - 257th place. Brian and his team had a good run, earning two wins and eventually being knocked out by a team from Canada.

In the Team Captains event = Howie's Crew - They earned 257th-384th place in the event. This event is tough, you're playing one rack matches on 7 foot tables with alternating racks of 8/9 ball, so sometimes you don't even get to shoot and its hard to fade away from bad luck. This type of event, sometimes you need a little luck to make it far.

In the Ladies event = OG Chicks with Sticks - 65th-96th in the event. Lisa and her team had an unfortunate sudden death loss that put them out earlier than expected, but that's the way it happens sometimes. The team that beat them wen on to win many more matches and finish 9th place, so no shame there.

In the Masters event = Ryan Lima and his Masters team earned 129th-192nd place. This event is tough and you never know when you're going to run into a team like the one they did. Their opponents got top 16 last year and were all strong 9s.

In the 9-ball Team Event - Nate's team - The Degenerates finished in 385th place in the event, which is an incredible accomplishment considering the fact that they started playing 9-ball about 7 months ago and did not have a full team out there. Just making it TO Vegas is tough.

In the 9-ball Team Event - Great Balls of Fire - Ashley + Justin Zielke and their team do not have their stories written yet. They are currently on round 3 playing as we speak! If they win this, they will be in the money. Lets all wish them luck and we will report back when we have more info!

We had so many new faces out there this trip and some faces that we haven't seen out in Vegas in a long time and we couldn't be happier with the representation of our Baystate APA players. Thank you to everyone that followed along at home with some of our players streamed matches and to those out here in Vegas that supported your fellow players. It was a pleasure sweating matches with you all and cheering on our friends.

Congratulations to the OG Chicks with Sticks for winning the Baystate APA Ladies World Qualfiier! They will be representing us in Vegas this August and we couldn’t be happier for them.

This wraps up our 2023-2024 season of Vegas qualifying events and we can’t wait for August to see everyone compete out there.

Everyone have a great 4th of July and we will see you soon at one of our upcoming events - the Baystate APA MVP tournaments, APA Northeast Challenge at Mohegan and the 2nd annual Baystate APA Cash Cup with $15,000 added money!

We have 102 qualified players for the upcoming regional tournament this October! That is a new record for us in one qualifying window.

Thank you to everyone that helped make this happen. The players, our board runners and a special shoutout to Jayme Baker and Russ Moniz - Jayme ran in incredible amount of boards for us these past few months and Russ ran our play until you win board two weeks ago where he qualified 34 players in one day!

So far this year, the Baystate APA has added $3,112 into the singles board program in our area in an effort to get more players qualified and send more people to Vegas. $800 of that is going to go to travel assistance for Vegas in May 2025 to the person who has run the most boards for the 2 regional qualifying windows in 2024-2025. So far, that title is earned by Jayme but its not too late to try and catch him! Its our way of saying thank you for stepping up to help your fellow players.

Anyone can run boards for us and we encourage you to do so. All you need to do is ask, get some boards and scoresheets and run them in accordance with the rules. **You are required to check the incoming scoresheets to make sure they are completely filled out with names, player numbers, total innings, safeties, games won and ball count for 9-ball, then you just need to get the boards and money to us in a timely manner so that we can enter them and send them off to the national office.**

If we qualify another 100 players in this upcoming qualifying window (now until November 30th) We will be hosting a Baystate APA party at Rack'em Up with a tournament, games, giveaways and catering before the May 2025 Vegas trip!

The APA singles board qualification window is closing June 15th - this Saturday - this is for the October regional tournament where you’re playing for a trip to Vegas in April/May 2025.

Back by popular demand is our play until you win knockout boards! Hosted by Russell Moniz at Rack 'Em Up Billiards this Saturday June 15th starting at 9am. $60 per format (8/9ball) - win two matches before you lose one to qualify. If you lose, hop back in another board!

The Baystate APA is adding the remainder of the money into the pool to ensure we qualify as many players as we can for this October.

*Play until you win OR
- We run out of players (need 4 minimum players to run any board)
- Until Rack’em Up closes (dont think we have to worry about this one but just in case)
-Until we run out of boards (I believe we have 70+ boards available at Rack’em Up - let’s see if we can use them all!)

Thank you to Russ and Rack’em Up for hosting on a Saturday to give our players more time to earn their spots and thank you to our own Jayme Baker for qualifying a ton of players already this qualifying window! We all appreciate you both and what you do for us.

Let’s see if we can break our record and get 100 Baystate APA players in one regional tournament!

Don’t know what the singles board program is all about? You win a singles board playing against our local players - you go to a regional tournament where you compete against other players from around MA and RI of the same skill level as you where the winners earn a trip to Las Vegas in April/May to compete against players of the same skill level around the world for a 1st place prize of $10,000-15,000 and some bragging rights/unique APA merch!
