Dressage Tip Tuesday: Straightness Starts With You

Is your horse drifting? Check your own position first! Before adding more leg or more rein, ask yourself:

🐎 Are both of my shoulders even?
🐎 Am I sitting equally on both seat bones?
🐎 Are my hands level?
🐎 Am I looking where I want to go?

Your horse can’t stay straight if you’re accidentally giving mixed signals!

Dressage Tip Tuesday: Ride Forward Before You Ride Fancy

A horse that is willingly moving forward into a steady contact will always have a better foundation than one that is simply “placed” in a frame. Focus on rhythm and relaxation first and the rest will come with time!

Every circle, corner, and centerline counts. Riding accurate figures improves your horse’s balance and can earn valuable points on your test.

Challenge: During your next ride, break each 20 meter circle into quarters and make them truly round!
