Dearest Community Members and Coaches,

The Hanford Youth Basketball League has some exciting news. As many of you are aware, a few years ago the basketball

community had a split in the youth basketball programs that were offered here in Kings County. This split offered options in

the kinds of programs that were available, however brought some confusion and other challenges as well. The challenges

were the availability of resources to operate both leagues in a way that best served the community. The leaders

from the National Junior Basketball League (NJB) and the Hanford Youth Basketball League (HYBL) have met and decided

to bring both leagues together and offer one program that would support unity in our basketball community. Both programs

will be under the umbrella of the NJB organization. We have included the link for the website for your convenience as we are

starting the sign up process for the 2017-2018 season.

We expect this change to be beneficial for our players as well as the community as a whole. If there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact [email protected] and/or hanfordnjb.org.

Coaches, players and parents, Sunday's tournament games have been moved to Sierra Pacific High School. The HYBL Board want to ensure attendance at the HYBL games are an enjoyable experience for all of our players, coaches and community supporters. The Board had some concern about the lack of seating for our fans and the size of the courts created an unsafe environment for our players and coaches.

With the assistance of Coach Amy Bush, the HYBL Board was able to secure Sierra Pacific Gym for Sundays games.

Good morning,
Congrats to the Sierra Pacific (SPH) Girls Basketball Team! They will be playing for their Division Championship on Saturday at 10 am at the Selland Arena. To show our league's appreciation for this awesome accomplishment for the Lady Bears and their amazing coach, Amy Bush, HYBL has elected to move JFK's Saturday (March 4th) games to Sunday (March 5th) at Sierra Pacific High School. This league employs SPH basketball players and students from Sierra High School to referee games, keep scorebooks and run the game clocks. HYBL also has siblings and family members who will be at Selland Arena cheering on the Lady Bears. It was requested that HYBL move the Div 1-3 games to Sunday, March 4th to allow our employees, players and family members the opportunity to go support the Lady Bears and not be forced to miss HYBL last season game.
We hope that all of our parents and players support this decision to move Div 1-3 games to Sunday. To be respectful to those families that attend church services, games will start at 12 pm.

Rookie and Clinic games will remain on Saturday at Longfield.
