Watershed Mountain Bike Trails

Watershed Mountain Bike Trails The Watershed offers routes for bikers, hikers, and trail-runners of all skill and fitness levels. A proper map will be available soon. Enjoy!

Horseback riding, hunting, and camping is prohibited by law. All trails are located on the City of Elizabethton Watershed Property. Total trail length is approximately 5 miles with shorter, less challenging options available. The trail is entirely single-track beginning in a white pine forest, then continues through more mature southern Appalachian hardwood forests and along a very scenic stretch

of the Doe River. Volunteers continuously maintain existing trails as well as develop new trails and re-routes. YOUR help would be greatly appreciated, if interested contact Brian at Hampton Trails Bicycle Shop for more information.

As of yesterday all trails are rideable and mostly cleared. The left side of the Pines Loop is closed due to many large pines that have uprooted and are crisscrossed longways in the trail from recent windstorms. We are considering a small reroute in that section and hope to have that part open soon. Happy riding!

As of a few days ago, the lower level trails were cleared of debris, after a couple days of cleanup work. Some sections still could use some weedeating if anyone would like to help out. There are still a couple trees down on the upper sections of the advanced trail and some areas of mainly rhododendron that need pruning back, which will be getting some attention soon.

Happy riding!

Hello everyone, I have had a couple reports in the last day from riders that there are about 7 trees down mostly in the Pines Loop, we will get those cut out ASAP.

Stormy weather brings it's own trail challenges. Please avoid riding in the pines area particularly if it is a very windy day. Water saturated soils and strong winds often result in blowdowns/uprooting of some large trees.
