We are extremely saddened by the terrible news of the passing of Coach Kenneth “Coach Chiz” Chisholm.

Coach Chiz was a huge part of the Boo Williams Family for many years and proudly manned the sidelines with our group, helping shape the program into what it is today.

Coach was well known throughout the 757 and across the national basketball community for his dedication to mentoring coaches and, most importantly, guiding and impacting the lives of young men and women through basketball.

His knowledge, passion, leadership, and willingness to help others made a lasting impact on so many people in our basketball community. Coach Chiz was more than a coach he was a mentor, a teacher, a friend, and a true member of the Boo Williams Family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Coach Chiz’s family, friends, players, coaches, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest in Heaven, Coach Chiz. 🕊️🙏🏾

You will truly be missed, but your impact will live on forever.

It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of legendary Hampton Roads basketball coach Harry Rest, just 17 days shy of his 88th birthday.

Coach Rest left an unforgettable mark on the game and on generations of student-athletes. In 15 seasons as Deep Creek High School’s head basketball coach, he compiled an outstanding 253-85 record while leading the Hornets to six Southeastern District regular-season championships, three Southeastern District Tournament titles, and the 1991 Group AAA Eastern Region Championship.

Beyond the wins and championships, Coach Rest’s greatest legacy is the countless lives he impacted through his leadership, mentorship, and love for the game. His influence will continue to be felt throughout the Hampton Roads basketball community for years to come.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Rest family, his former players, colleagues, and everyone whose life he touched.

Rest in peace, Coach Harry Rest. Your legacy will never be forgotten.

For decades, these names have been ringing bells throughout the grassroots basketball world. Their impact on the game is unmeasurable, they’ve built programs, developed generations of players, opened doors to college opportunities, and left a legacy that continues to shape the game.

True pioneers. True mentors. True legends.

The “BOSS.”

For 44 years, Coach has been a trailblazer, innovator, pioneer, and the standard for grassroots basketball. His impact reaches far beyond wins and championships he’s helped shape the game and inspire millions of young girls and boys to chase their dreams.

One of the best parts of every EYBL season is watching former players, alumni, coaches, and basketball greats stop to give Coach his flowers. The respect he commands throughout the basketball world isn’t given it’s earned.

A true legend. A living legacy. The BOSS. 👑🏀
