EVENT TEASER for 9/13

The Ralkean Empire vanished into another realm, despite the best efforts of its people and their friends in Eileana’Reult. Together, the Ralkeans and Eileanans formed a unified kingdom, the Sovereign Isles of Light. But the Ralkeans never forgot - nor stopped yearning for - their home capital of Lamerin.

Two years ago, the realm met a djinn who granted fantastical wishes. The nomad ranger, Mairwen, won the greatest Djinn’s wish, and in trade with Sovereign Isles, the djinn’s power summoned the lost city of Lamerin into the northern lands of the Isles. The city arrived with two hydras at its gates. The land searching party bravely slew the hydras and all of the Sovereign Isles celebrated.

The city of Lamerin is wealthy, and the city is kind to its visitors. Additionally, word on the street is that an old artifact of cultural significance was recently seen, somewhere near Smithy Street and Jeweler’s Lane. If among the winding roads, rooftops, and secret rooms, you happen to find our missing artifact, you will be handsomely rewarded.

The weather is getting more pleasant, we have a great mix of battle games, tournaments and adventures coming up on our fall schedule, and we’ve seen some friendly cross-gamer faces join our ranks.

Cross-gamers often have their own costumes, their own kits, and some uncertainty about the biggest way a new LARP differs from their home game. If you are a cross-gamer thinking about visiting ORCS, we’ve prepared a one-page primer with YOU in mind... some quick helpful FAQs on what to expect. Greetings, goofy goobers and glorious gaffers! The Committee for the Legal Oversight of Wacky Nonsense hereby invites the rancorous Realm to join them for a slapstick soiree! Our dear Mister President Gunk has been feeling a bit down lately, so to raise his sunny spirits, we will be holding a positively prankish party. To kick it off, we will welcome any and all up and coming jovial jesters, amateur amusers, and silly little guys to help entertain our gaggle of guests. So bring your best bits! Your devious demonstrations! Your priceless performances! And absolutely nothing could possibly go wrong!

This campout will be focused more on classes with some battle games sprinkeled in. A detailed schedule will be posted shortly.

SCHEDULE (Subject to change)
Friday:
-Set-up starting at 12PM

Saturday:
-Check-in from 10-12PM

Sunday:
-Clean-up and depart by 12pm

FEES
-Campouts cost $10 and get you 3 credits.
-Extra Credit Buy: A $5 donation to the club gets you 1 extra credit; a $10 donation gets you 2 extra credits.
-That means, for $20, you could get 5 credits at Campout!

PARKING
Parking will be in the field by the road. Ropes and stakes will demark the parking boundary.

BUILDINGS
We do not have access to the building. Port-a-potties and a hand-washing station will be provided.

FIRE
Fires must be contained in above ground portable fire pits and ashes must be disposed of in the big on-site fire pit.

FOOD
Members will be responsible for their own food. Alcohol is allowed, but must be consumed in your camps. Wal-Mart and a variety of fast food and sit-in restaurants are about 10 minutes from the location.
