From backyard jumps built out of logs and branches to big group lessons at McDonogh School (Maryland), Jacob Pope didn’t come up through weekly rated shows on his own top equitation horses, but his foundation taught him to ride anything.

Together with Nick Pongracz, he’s carved a different path to the top—all the way to the Longines FEI World Cup Finals in April.

“It's just really cool to think that there were probably some kids in that stadium, or watching online, that hopefully someday can hear about how Jacob came up—or how we came up—and try to do the same," Pongracz said.
